A National leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu, was in the early hours of Friday flown to London for medical treatments.

An aide close to the former Lagos governor said he was flown out in his private jet for treatment of an ailment which affects his posture and balance as well his movement, speech and writing.

“He has been manifesting symptoms of Parkinson disease which include tremor, shaky limbs, hands and fingers, slow movement, impaired posture and balance and loss of automatic movements,” said the aide.

According to the aide, Tinubu was accompanied by his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu and the former national chairman of the APC, Chief Bisi Akande.



The aide also added that the APC leader also has another undisclosed illness which is being managed at a specialist hospital in Houston, USA, adding that his withdrawal from vying for the presidency Muhammadu Buhari’s deputy in the 2015 elections was as a result of his failing health.

It would be recalled that a few weeks ago, a few papers reported that Tinubu was down with stroke and flown to Europe for medical treatment.

Tinubu however debunked these reports by saying, “The story about my health is the mother of all lies. Do not believe it. I was on my usual holidays. I thank all well wishers. I’ll return soon.
