Yes agree with u. Presidency is a sacred office and symbol of sovereign authority of Nigeria. Dis reason is d very essence why pple of gr8ter character n leadership value shld occupy such an exotic office. Jonathan doesn't only rubbish presidency, he tarnished it both home n abroad. We dnt seem to hv any moral value under Jonathan's administration. D respect Nigeria used to enjoyed under previous govt gone down d drain. D level of impunity, mediocrity, sycophants n praise-singers home in d presidency is d 1st of its kind n d 1st ever in d history of Nigeria. Jonathan is d worst thin dat has ever happnd to ds country after civil war...he can't return come 2015

However, Governor Amaechi who was earlier hinted by the presidential protocols to receive Jonathan at the Airport did not show up. The Office of the Presidency deserves some level of regard, respect and decorum!

The PDP Ward Congress is Scheduled for tomorrow.

Amaechi welcoming GEJ? I laugh in Cantonese. The president was passing through rivers state on his way to his own party function. Why should the governor of the state abandon his duties at every point just because the president is coming to spend some minutes in the state. By all accounts GEJ only used Rivers state as a transit point so why should Amaechi roll out the drums for such a brief unofficial visit. That is sycophancy at its best.

The Deputy Governor was at the airport to receive the President so what's all this nonsense? If a Governor is absent, whose duty is it to represent him? An hint you say, If it were detail presidential protocols I may have support you. Why has not the Presidency notifies Amaechi, must he act on air say. I believe Jonathan didn't want the Rivers state government (meanwhile Ameachi is not the state government, he is only the state governor) to welcome him so he sent no notification to them. Possible reasons may be that the president is the state for personal/party matter and not an official matter.

So as public enemies (as both of them has publicly shown) there is no iota of disrespect in this case, if Jonathan personality (not the Nigeria President) decides not to tell Amaechi personality (not Rivers State) to welcome him to Rivers state then both of them respect themselves in this case. The issue is personal/party one and not official/government related.
