Nkechi was really scared when Matthew pointed the
gun at her...
''Oh, you think you can escape this huh'' he asked...
''Please don't kill me. Take whatever you
want...Please don't kill me'' She pleaded.
''oh well....'' Matthew licking his lips, ''Those laps look
soooo inviting.. hmm, I should take whatever I want?
''
"Please Matthew, I beg of you...don't do this. I have
some money in my bag if thats what you want.
Please dont kill me'' Nkechi said crying
''Well well... I think I have changed my mind'' Matthew
looking at Nkechi lustfully..
Matthew got close to Nkechi, removed his belt,
unzipped his trousers and tore her cloth...''Oh yeah, I
have been waiting for this day'' he said
"Please Matthew, I am a virgin...don't do this to me''
Nkechi kept pleading but Matthew played deaf ears to
her pleas. He grabbed her by her waist and forcefully
entered her.
Nkechi was helpless, she kept screaming but there
was no one around to help... She looked around and
saw a big hammer, took it and hit Matthew on his
head. Matthew fell off Nkechi... Nkechi got up, took
Matthew's gun and shot him dead...
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>So Christians, in this kind of
situation do you think Nkechi commited a sin by
killing Matthew before he killed her?
Do you think God will be pleased with you if someone
kills you when you could have defended yourself?
Re: Is this murder? by Nobody: 3:50pm On Oct 31, 2014
It depends on the effect of the first blow and the frame of mind of the young lady.

If the hammer blow was enough to incapacitate Matthew and Nkechi is well aware of this before pulling the trigger, then she has committed murder in my books.

If on the other hand the blow had little effect and Matthew was still capable of hurting her plus Nkechi, in her present state of, probably, shock shot him out of impulse then I don't believe she committed murder.

Well.. David killed Goliath, and God was pleased.

Oh please, foolish people. When was self defense considered murder? You know in the old testament, that if they caught the guy, they would still kill him, right? And are you going to inspect the guy to see if the hammer blow incapacitated him so that he can rub his head and molest you a second time? What kind foolish question is this? Even the Nigerian court will throw out this case as long as she can prove he molested her.
Abeg...double tap! Hit him once, and then hit again to make sure he is down and is not getting up! When did being a Christian mean that you cant defend yourself?
Would you feel bad for shooting an armed robber that has shot your father and was preparing to shoot your mother? Would you stop with just a hammer blow? so that he can get up and finish his work?
You obviously know nothing of self defense or military training. I am a christian woman and I know of self defense because honestly, men prey on women and I'm not giving up what God gave me without a bloody fight. You dont hope someone is down, you make SURE someone is down. In a fight, you dont hit once and wait. You hit until you are SURE the person wont bother you again.

Ochiban.. I figure contradiction in your post. As in conclusion, post your point.
Re: Is this murder? by Ochiban: 7:47pm On Oct 31, 2014
Point is....whatever you do in self defense....even if it involves killing someone....is NOT murder. Self defense is the counter measurefor protecting oneself from harm. Exodus 22 vs 2-3 f a thief is found breaking in and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no bloodguilt for him, but if the sun has risen on him (i.e. you see him on the street tomorrow and you kill him), there shall be bloodguilt for him.

There are several cases of self defense in the bible but I use David because there was judgement from him. Abner (David's enemy) is being pursued by Ashael. He warns Ashael to leave him alone. Ashael still pursues him and Abner kills him. Ashael's brother, Joab, kills Abner later on. The judgement on Abner as pronounced by David on his death bed was that he should be executed because he murdered a man in cold blood. Abner was considered innocent because he killed a man in self defense.

.

that was a rape..... but by hitting the hammer on his
head, she drove him unconscious, thereby having a
means of escape and also reporting him to someone
around or to the appropriate authorities....... but she
picked up the gun and shot an unconscious,
harmless (at that state of unconsciousness, per
say)..... so to me, ITS MURDER. face the count
charge baby
Re: Is this murder? by Ochiban: 8:37pm On Oct 31, 2014
it wont stand up to any court. And its is still self defense. How do you know when someone is unconscious? have you been in a fight or battle? I will assure you that you will not have time to check. All these things happen in less than 10 seconds...no time to think...just time to try to survive.

Plus like the bible quote says....the guy is still in your house. its not like she killed him the next day. His blood is not required of her

Thou shall not kill

The law stands however.

Some people here are really dull

Which court will convict her of murder?

There was a threat and she defended herself.

Once someone points a gun at you and tries to ra.pe you, it is already assumed that you are in an alarmed state of mind.

Killing the assailant to make sure he is dead is not a crime. It is only a crime if she tortured the guy by sodomizing him with the gun or something before killing him

God is the ultimate judge. But, Nkechi could have ran
out after hitting him with the hammer. She shot him
while he was helpless, no longer a threatening figure.
Just like shooting to kill someone who is fleeing. Or
shooting someone at the back. Or shooting someone
who is tied hands and feet. . . Now, if you had said:
'he fell off, stood up in shock and then rushed at her
with fury, she quickly picked up the gun and fired' ,
Ehen! I would hail her and fight anyone who says she
didn't try. I know he's evil and we think he needs to
die, but at least let Nkechi's own soul be intact
because i don't think it's easy to live after taking a
life. Nightmares and loss of meaning in life, etc. So,
never be killed when you could have defended
yourself. But if there's a way out, run instead!

Again, no court will convict her of murder.

You do not know what it is like to be in fear. In an alarmed state, your mind is not as rational as it normally is.

It is easy to be righteous when there is no pressure on you.

Different scenario.

Nkechi acted in self defence, in the face of danger. Unlike Oscar, she did not assume someone was going to hurt her-she faced danger in the person of Mathew. Oscar was lucky to get five years-he had a good lawyer, his circumstances favored him but he had a weak case

Nkechi prolly shot him because she didn't know if he was going to be out long enough for her to escape and get help.

From the religious angle though, it depends on her state of mind. If she had deliberately killed Mathew, that's against Bible teaching. All in all, she has her conscience to deal with for the rest of her life.
