Confab Report Unacceptable - Igbo Leaders by idrisa334(op): 8:32am On Nov 01, 2014
ENUGU – A group of prominent Igbo political leaders, the Igbo Leaders of Thought (ILT) has called for the restructuring of the Nigerian federation to make for the devolution of greater powers to, this time, not the states but larger and capable political units called zones.

ILT believes that the creation of these zones will create a more united, strong and prosperous Nigeria where the states through these zones will be allowed to develop in their own pace and time.

MY OPINION? Their opinion doesn't count
Re: Confab Report Unacceptable - Igbo Leaders by veraponpo(m):
You are talking as if the Confab Report will be used at all.

It was just a political tool used by deceptive leaders .

Where is the report of the 2005 Confab?

When Tinubu and Buhari said it, the gullible and buttlickers were doubting.

Have you heard anything since then?

Lest we forget, where is our $20b? How many months do you want to use in auditing just one account ?

^^^Why shouldn't their opinion count?........Aren't they Nigerians? This arrogance of certain sections who believe the status-quo that favors them should remain would lead to the eventual demise of this contraption you call a country......even quicker than the boko nonsense they inadvertently created!

What is wrong in their recommendation that the country should have fewer and more viable federating units? Of course the likes of junaid muhammed would reject this because he doesn't want equity among the federating units where the South East and North West would be on the same level......the same North West that contributes near fuc/kall to the nations coffers!

That event was simply one of the government's shambolic diversionary antics. It had neither the backing of the law or true Nigerians. When we said absolutely nothing is gonna come out of it especially under the current leadership in the country, people here almost insulted the life out of us. Now, look at all these.

Smh.

^^^Please set aside your disdain for Igbos and try to fault their argument! Who told you efforts at restructuring this contraption you call a nation starts and stops with the charade that went on in the name of 'national conference'!?

Now can you refer me to anywhere that shows those that were 'sent to represent them' were selected based on some kind of democratic process? It's obvious you're not aware of all the suggestions made during the conference aimed at whittling down the federating units to a more manageable and viable level.....suggestions which were rejected by the delegates owing to vehement protestations of the core muslim north!

This guys are fustrators as if where given opportunity to conduct a task of that magnitude, they will be able to do so and yield even a sheet of paper called out come of the project. Moreso insulting the delegate sent, which mean igbos do not have competent men to represent us.
