8 Moral Questions For Speaker Tambuwal by nku5: 8:34am On Nov 01, 2014
Saw this on a friend's wall on facebook:

1. Which party currently have the majority of members at the Federal House of Representatives?

2. Do we have any precedence in Nigeria or US where the Speaker of the house is from a minority party?

3. If a former Speaker joins the minority party has he automatically lost the speakership or not?

4. Does democracy make allowance for the minority to lead the majority?

5. Is it morally right or proper to voluntarily leave the majority party and still keep the benefit accruing from being a member of the majority party?

6. Define democracy, if you can.

7. Does the minority rule the majority in any democratic setting?

8. Will you accept a PDP member leading Lagos or Kano or Rivers house of assembly as Speaker?

Scenerios like this occur for the poor but discerning masses to know the real innards of some of our leaders. I mean, why not honourably resign from the post; what exemplary quality of leadership and conscience do u potray; is this how u have been leading the house without admitting the truth when u ought to?...so many questions raised and he still had the hard-eye to tell nigerians that he was elected the speaker of the house not becos he was a member of pdp but becos he was a member of the house! Meaning if he was a member of any of the lesser parties(minority) he would have still been elected the speaker of the house cry(mental challenge spotted).
Hehehe
All these misguidance and self disgrace for what?!
The op raised rellevant questions.

u can help ur friend out by using my answers and response.

nku5:
1. Which party currently have the majority of members at the Federal House of Representatives?
pdp! No rule or part of constitution says a party with majority should produce the speaker. Do remember that their majority is not enough to impeach a speaker, but it can elect one in a fresh election in d to elect a new speaker for d house in any event that warrant that.

nku5:
2. Do we have any precedence in Nigeria or US where the Speaker of the house is from a minority party?
ume eze-oke was the speaker in the second republic and he was frm the minority party.

nku5:
3. If a former Speaker joins the minority party has he automatically lost the speakership or not?
No! The constitution is clear on this(refer to my answer on question one).

nku5:
4. Does democracy make allowance for the minority to lead the majority?
what do u call minority here; u mean minority in number or in size? I'm sure u knw a black minority is the president of USA-chosen by majority.

nku5:
5. Is it morally right or proper to voluntarily leave the majority party and still keep the benefit accruing from being a member of the majority party?
pdp(majority) did not support Tambuwal candidature frm d begining, they supported mulikat. Infact, they wanted to arrest him and ihedioha on d day of the election.
It was the opposition party(mostly acn, cpc, accord party) and few pdp members loyal to bankole that voted tambuwal as bankole's annointed candidate.

nku5:
6. Define democracy, if you can.
govt of d ppl, by d ppl and for d ppl.

nku5:
7. Does the minority rule the majority in any democratic setting?
the so call US declare d candidate with highest electoral colleges winner ahead of d candidate with highest numberof votes. Number or majority is not always d factor.

nku5:
8. Will you accept a PDP member leading Lagos or Kano or Rivers house of assembly as Speaker?
of course, yes, if the situation warrants. And that's talking about states as isolated case. We are a talking about nigerian house of rep as a whole. It is national in this case!
Have u forgotten that at some point in the house, apc had d majority and , tambuwal being a member of pdp was stil allowed to operate as the speaker without any threat of impeachment?
Hope i've spoken the minds of the gods.

Tambuwal has no iota of morality. He is sympathetic to his northern born to rule brothers. He is a typical looter and has been condoning his bribe taking committees all along. To remove Tambuwal as speaker, PDP must apply democrazy tactics. He is a dishonorable member of the house.

You would have made sense if you had been true to yourself. Advise your right honorable to do the right thing. Which is to resign, that's what people with noble birth would do.

Are you aware that Jonathan is morally bankrupt than Tambuwal you are accusing?

PDP has no legitimate or legal ground to remove the speaker. So PDP now wish to justify their Illegal Self Help on MORAL ground. Yeye dey smell.

If resigning is what you consider to be the right thing you must be a joke. What a reasonable party does is to instruct their member to impeach him if they have such might.
