Though the themes are not clear

SIM has an african american style(hair) but looks like mercy johnson
The male dude looks AA also

thanks for the observation. the character design wasn't really race specific, we used the name simi so nigerians can associate with it. but we have plans to rework the design so its more akin to our people.

Is SIM an avatar that Simisola uses

the title "THE SIM" comes from the fact that it's a simulation, thus the end scene- where she wakes up in the real world.
