google search you go get ya ans, as an example, search like dis rooting htc one x on the present firmware version, I mean if ya fone is on 4.1.2 or a newer version
Bt be prepared 4 a hard work cauz htc fones re nt d@ easy to root, u go 1st unlock d bootloader, wic go require pc and a good sensibility b4 u apply d root n if u intend installing custom roms, u wud require to obtain S-OFF 4 it..if u are an ib based guy, I can help u out out of free will

Easy, am using. Htc one x rooted running miui v5(android 4.4.4 kitkat)

All u need is a pc/lappy, adb/fastboot, usb , dats all

first of all, is ya htc one x d international version (it has a Nvidia tegra processor) or d att version ( it has a qualcomm snapdragon cpu)..verify d@ 1st
