Whether you are a Christian (Orthodox or Protestant), Muslim (Shia or Sunni), Jew, Spiritualist, Buddist, etc. Most of us are what we are simply because we were born into families that practiced our religion. A few of us were converted along the way through indoctrination and others via conquest, but there is a reason why we worship the God which we worship.

But the question is are we sure the God we worship is the right one? Although doctrines of the various religions are basically the same (i.e. doing good is good and doing bad is bad) the major differences are the rituals and ceremonies performed by these religions. Also what one religion calls good, another religion calls bad. Religion has over the years tried to move with the pace of civilization. The new testament was written to override the laws of the old and focus on love rather than the strict teachings of the law. In current era, religious faiths are modifying their doctrines to favour gay marriage and relationships.

There is no doubt that there are powers that are beyond human comprehension, be it is magic or miracle. Powers that we tap into via religion. It is also clear that religion does not have all the answers. If it did, the early church will not have stated unequivocally that the earth was flat. If God knew everything, then he (through his faithfuls) would have known the basic fact that the earth was spherical.

In my humble opinion, rather than criticize one another on the religious practices we engage in, we should focus on living lives that show love, sacrifice and tolerance of one another. This is because nobody can provide evidence that can prove that he is right and others are wrong.

There is no power beyond human's comprehension. Humans can only be limited by the depth of their. knowledge. Imagine explaining how an ipad works to your grand dad in the village. It would all seem like magic to him. There are no right gods, only man is God.

While some will shout the name of their pastors whom they worship and recieve answer immidiatly some will call on the lizard at the back of their house and be save others will shout the name of the cockroaches in their cupboard.
I once met a igbo man who who claimed that the python is his own God hence he must always pay respect and pour libation to the python.
As for me and my houshold God who created hevean and earth answer my prayer.

You should have first asked the believers for evidence showing that their Gods exist, before then asking them to tell you why he's the right one.

He didn't try to convince us that his God is the right God, so there's no problem with that. He just said that him and his household chose the God that created heaven and earth just like the Igbo man that chose python as his God. I still don't see anything dumb with what he said.

Its impossible that you could be following the Jesus from the bible. Jesus describes his true followers in John 14:12-14.
