herald9:I think we can. its just that we aren't exposed to things like these. Graffiti, street arts and all are not our thing. All we know is School, business(like my bro asking how these will put food on the table), social media and enjoyment. Its just our mentality that things like these are frivolous. herald9:For where?? Commission what? Before one even paints finish nko? How about the harrassment and intimidation you'll face from passers-by and road users? Na to just wake up the next day and see people scrubbing your painting off or yu see a 'Thou shall not paint on roads' sign. Then the Govt that's Suppose to support these artist will set up a committee that'll be punishing 'offenders' No be Naija? |

herald9:Yea, you're very right. Things like this can be done on private properties. I don't mean to sound pessimistic bt, who will paint it? Is it Bayo who is still stuggling to gain Admission into the university, or Mr. John that's busy looking for job? We don't really appreciate creativity. I'm sure if one were to suggest this to a Nigerian artist, he'll ask wat happened to cardboards that he'll start now start painting street, roads and walls. Not that we can't do it, its just our mentality and environment. |

missEmjay:Lolz Art is not a lucrative business in Nigeria... so you shouldn't expect people to embrace it as a career... We only have sculptors here and those on cardboards...I'm really not into those stuffs... don't wanna turn my room into an African museum  But I'm Sure those ones responsible for sculpting public figures like those on roundabouts and cultural centres do make quite a fortune... only that it doesn't Come easy  Maybe if they can upgrade and venture into 3D arts like these... they'll surely pull a crowd |
