Ideas for fundraising.what do you think?
I never meant that the advert should be paid for which is why I coined community social responsibility from corporate social responsibility.
I doubt if the owner of the forum too would ever consider charging for it.
Those good in IT could fashion out ideas on how people can contribute as low as N100 just like obama did during his campaign.
I'm sure if its just slightly possible and like a 100,000 active users donate just N100 then we would have ten million.
I think we need to partner with a telecoms company so that a short code can be generated and the advert posted on nairaland for people to dial the code or send a message to it like 55650 or so and have N100 deducted from their recharge credit.
The monies can be collected from the telecoms and put to use.
The telecoms company would be told its good for their image too as the forum has over a million active users and possibly up to 5 million unregistered viewers.
They can even deduct as low as N50 for a message sent to the dedicated code.
Nairaland has a very high potential which is population that is yet to be tapped.

ANBAKO:
Osisi, In as much that I deeply appreciate what you and lot of other people are doing per DJDOLA, I personally believe that people are getting bored by you and your every-second writing which personally I feel is personified, commanding, watery, insubstantial and sometimes disrespectful. Attention is lately shifting from DJ to Babyosisi. Remember that there were people who were volunteering before you came on board, You have pushed all these people aside, not giving in into opinions that differ from yours. Any person that disagree with you is seen as an outcast, an enemy of the cause whereas people are just trying to voice their observations for the betterment of the cause. Only you want to control diagnostic, logistics, Passport, India, Hospital, VI, Ikeja, Fundraising. Take it easy. It is good to be active and even better to be proactive but being hyperactive is hazardous. In my place of work, we refer to hyperactive people as Mobile hazards.
My advise is that you need to take it slow, reduce your updates and exposure on the forum, lets throw info through other various channels/team/volunteers. Let us centralize dissemination of information/updates/requests and do them periodically and not randomly at will without thinking through them. All these messages like "get me the report", " i sent you a mail", should be intra-team and not for our consumption on the forum.
I appreciate what you are doing but do not "over-do" it. God bless you (and other volunteers), this noble cause and Quick recovery for Hammed.
Lastly. I like to join your team if there is still vacancy. smiley
You appreciate her, yet you sent her away with your post. This is unfair in my own opinion. She may have her excesses, but tolerance is key.
We all have opinions and we were adviced to move on, let go our differences and remember the purpose of the thread, DJdola.
Am glad you are ready to work with her. Now that she's no more, kindly contact other team B members and pick up from there.

Idowu,Olu and all please, lets focus on DJ.

Anyone, including me that wants to watch from the sidelines should for the sake of DJ simply do so without the unnecessary sentiment of announcing it here. The ministry must move on.

IT's DJ, not me and/or you.

FOCUS PEOPLE. Abeg .

Mr Cramjones was first on the scene requesting for a final diagnosis and until this is obtained, quit the sly digs at him to make it look like he has done a runner. It's unprofessional and unbecoming. Dang!
By the way, that one statement sending you was a rhetorical statement. There was no need for any action on your part undecided
Copied!

I apologise to cramjones if my attention seeking has embarrassed him in anyway. Look beyond it and do the needful. At times situations call for some mumu actions on my part. I guess this is such. cheesy

Insha Allah, DJDOLA (and every other person down with illness of whatever sort) will be healed; i am very confident of this. Please if you have donated any amount for this cause previously, do not shut the door. Always have the intention of doing more as access to more resources open up for you. Insha Allah, your efforts will not be in vain.

DJDOLA's travails have further reinforced the belief that we are all vulnerable despite our protestations to the contrary.

UPDATE!!!

07:30am - I just got to the hospital. I spoke to his doctor and he said we should wait for the test results as there is no new updates for now.

I spoke to his brother, he said hameed has no complaints for now, he is eating well too (he ate bread and rice)
Great PR work r231!....Not in the medical field...but I'm having a problem with this his diet...bread and rice?...is there a dietitian? ...then again this is wayyy too long for a hospital to have results for basic tests. Maybe it was better for someone to draw a blood sample and Fedex it abroad for analysis. I'm beginning to lose confidence in this hospital.

Rice and bread might not be a combination of rice and bread. Perhaps he had rice and then he decided to have a little bread of vice versa.

Everything does not have to be spelt out na.

When you are sick, you might crave for something and when you eat a little, you get tired of it and ask for something else. It is allowed.

No one has been insulted here more than idowuogbo yet she is still here doing a wonderful job.

*sighs*
If the initial tests he did at the previous hospitals can't be used, they wont base results on basic blood work you know. If the hospital said they want to carry out all the tests and then make a proper diagnosis, it should tell us they dont want to speculate at all. Blood work, alongside the tests mentioned yesterday should give us a clearer picture

To be sincere, these tests are taking ages.
For a liver dysfunction, LFTS are as basic as it comes.
As a matter of fact, that could be our pointer to the next step cos that's the easiest way to monitor his improvement on a daily basis. If his liver function tests get better daily with whatever treatment he is on now, then, there might be no need for a transplant afterall. I sincerely pray and hope and have this feeling he might be fine right there in Lagos. If he's eating bread and rice, something is being done right! But I've actually not seen any place that says Liver Function tests are being done. But then sometimes, I dunno how things happen in Naija. Sometimes, Naija doctors look like magicians to me cheesy

Lomaxx, Lagusta-biko, where are you?
