Abuja Carnival: FG Rejects Foreign Participation Over Ebola, Insecurity by Obinoscopy(op): 11:11am On Nov 19, 2014

Following the outbreak of ebola in some parts of the world including Nigeria and series of security challenges especially in the north- east, the federal government yesterday announced its rejection of foreign participation for the forthcoming Abuja National Carnival.

This is even as federal government noted that about 20 states have declared interest to participate in the carnival with the theme: “The Last Time You Saw A Carnival.”

This was disclosed by the artistic director of the Abuja National Carnival, Mr Abiodun Abe, while briefing newsmen in Abuja yesterday on the progress made so far in the preparation of the carnival scheduled to hold from November 24 to 27 in Abuja.

A welcome development. But it calls for serious security intelligence because I don't want to hear any sad story about bombs especially now that the festive period is approaching.
