apart from branding and marketing, also note that at the end, what people are really interested about, is the content. so you have to do great study on improving the content above the level of the normal garri, that's the processing aspect.
add something extra that is the reason while tummy-tummy stands where Indomie is standing. meanwhile many noodles have come and gone, even chikki is quietly going. only one thing is saving Dangote's noodle brand.
Thanks. As I said earlier, it's well processed and refined Ijebu garri. I wish nairaland has a store market where I can put one sample for people to taste. No sand. 0.1% impurities and very affordable

Dear Good people of great nation,
I started building this idea up since 2009 and here I am today (1st of November 2014) packaged two of the products for people to vet the packaging and tell me of there is anything to improve or amend. I am ready for any constructive criticism. I know we have a lot of enlightened nairalanders
surgecom:
Got that. But I think we can also nurture and market our product so that the name will stick to everyone's brain. The name "indomie" was not well known by everyone, but with rigorous TV and other media means of advertising, the name is now household name.
This products especially the garri is billed for export and the name needs to be more internationally understood, Hence, the need to use this kind of name. All in all, thanks for your observation.
Hi,

I am more concerned about the bold parts of your statements. If i must tell you the truth as a factory owner, importer and somebody living abroad..your package is very poor and if you export this abroad with that package, you wont meet the registration standard and will not sell. In some of my products, i spend fortune to ensure the package stand out and, that attracted/attracting lot of customers. Your brand name maybe good but the font, colors, quality of packaging material used are low and quite local.

I have attached one for you now, i took the picture from the supermarket to show you a simple and quality package. The company that package this package beans, semolina, cassava flour in stand and quality packages as well. I do hope this will help you to improve in your packaging and branding. If i have time, i can take pics of more types of rice here and upload for you. These sell well within Europe. Good luck

Thanks for the observation. But one thing you missed is about the quality of the package. This is just a picture online, you have not felt the texture and feel the properties of the package. If you understand packaging material properties, it's a PP/PET65 laminated.
I understand the simplicity packaging you said, will look into that for final production.
Thanks once again

Yeah packaging looks too busy IMO. Remember the goal is to show more of your product and less of graphics. At least until your products become a brand, it's best to keep it simple. Seeing so many of them put together just make it look all to busy even the more. Good initiative.

You are most welcome. Yeah i do understand packaging materials becos i did studied polymer eng and production at graduate level and PhD with extensive knowledge of biomaterials, medicinal chem, polymer. PP/PET is cheap, so most people used that and has low oxygen barrier and moisture protection over wearable distance. For quality package and utmost feeling BOPP/PET will be the best bet....i dont know if its available in Nigeria. PP is just a common plastic while PET (a polyester) provides the stiffness to PP. Where i reside and those that we have researched for companies are the type of package i attached above, which is EVOH/PP or BOPP/PET (multiple layer of sheets with significantly enhanced gas and moister protection over wearable distance).

BOPP/PET will have higher Design Hazard and Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) grading over PP/PET.

I do wish you good luck once more and fruitful business growth...!!!

In addition to all the observations made. I think you should just make the gari more visible in the park. And let the font of Garri be bigger. In fact write ijebu garri and make it big and easy to read. you might want to change the name of your product too to something more easy to remember. also make it more readable as they said. you can still use the nylon quality you have now for the local market, suspending further investment till when you start making money from the product. Test it locally first, make some money then improve the packaging before u tke it to Yankee market.

PHD polymer. Need to learn a lot from you. But I appreciate the fact that my PP/PET can still be used.

If you are in naija I would have sent real life sample to you so you could vet the packaging for me. All in all, thanks

Mr Oyelakin,I want to congratulate you on this achievement, you persevered with you dream and now you have succeeded.
Personally your packaging is very attractive to me but I be naija woman o.if you want to export them it would likely require very high packaging standard and even the content too you know as per oyinbo matter
I hope and pray that you will continue to make progress.

I want to know if you sell the Garri in 50kg bags.if you do how much.I need a consistent dependable source of supply for high quality dirt free drinkable/eba Garri .
do let me know the lowest possible price you can sell to

hi Surgecom,

I just bought your garri now@a store near my place@ Badore, Ajah.

What attracted me was the packaging as it placed beside the one is usually buy.

I must say your grains were whiter, cleaner, finer in size and of a better consistency and the packaging was of a higher quality than the other made with a sealer.

I haven't tasted it though.

It will be fun to compare the taste with the other one as I bought both.

Yours cost NGN250@900g. The other cost NGN350 but it was almost double the volume from what I see here.

Cheers

I like the packaging, however if you are going to have the see through part on the front. I would add more see through part on one of the bottom corners. People like to see what they are buying. Also I would add some wording in small print on the front that says "Premium quality garri product"

Also I would try other fonts. I think the font that the words are in, are a bit loud.

But well done!!! I like it overall. May GOD bless your business.

Please when you taste both, let me know the difference(s). I like to have more inputs so we can improve on that.

Thanks sir for the great observation. If you see it physically, you will see that there are more see-throughs than what you are seeing here.
We will still. Improve on some aspect of the packaging details.

Biggest Amen to all your prayers.

Good day

I need to commend you on your efforts in manufacturing your products.

I however need your assistance on product packaging as I presently also have an idea I want to develop.

I intend to produce more in 100, 250grams and I need your expertise in starting off.

How do I get equipment to seal the product and also printing of the paper pack?

I await your response
