Happy for you Brother... Be sure to get your winter jackets/coat before coming. You don't wanna spend $85 on one jacket here. cheesy

Idazbawz:
Americans are not. Salutations like "hey! What's going on" help a lot....
1) The consular will give u a big smile and tend to make your interview interesting.. Which brings the confidence in you.
2) You already explained to the consular that you are not desperate
3) you already expressed that you have alternative.

I don't know if you've gotten your visa, if you haven't, pay attention to other people's interview prior to yours, and you'd know if you are to use my idea or your 2 kobo.

All the best!
Nigerians aren't even respectful...we pretend. Last time, a DV selectee said he was accosted by an old woman at the embassy but never knew she was the VO handling comments on NL. Others did a lot of damage control on his behalf. It was a shame! The VO pretended and moved on.

fellow nairalanders,
I had HND mechanical engineering at the polytechnic Ibadan in 2010,and presently gainfully employed, a friend's friend promised to help me secure admission for my post-graduate in the states, and true to his word I was offered an admission at langston university, Oklahoma for the fall session 2015 but for computer science and at undergraduate level,i have payed the sevis fee @ seme border and the visa booking fee at GTB in October 2014, hoping to book an appointment in November.

but I think I would not be booking any appointment any longer because I have just been offered admission for PGD at FUTA.

so my question is
1. can the sevis/visa booking fee be transferred to someone else/ used by someone else?
anybody in the house that needs it should reply/message me

in america when you say ma; its just like saying mum, you dont tell or call an old lady ma or young girl, they'll be like i'm not your mum.... and good morning? whats so good in the morning that your fuzzing about, all i hear is heeey, how's it going or hello to a lady.... i met a lil kid he asked an old man of 50years :heeey how's it going,i was like this boy dosent have respect oh, but the old man embraced him and answered without no sign of showing the boy of disrespect, americans dont really care about greetings.... ma'am can be used.... but saying "ma" to an old woman is disrespectful your are like referring her to as an old woman
salutations like hello, hey is widely accepted,..,

Nope sevis fee and visa fee cant be transfer from you to another person but you can cancel your appointment and make use of it next year since its valid for a year.

American Express, Discover, JCB and MasterCard are NOT accepted for testing in Nigeria; only VISA and PayPal are accepted.

hello...please advice me!!!

I just got an undergraduate admission in texas to study Computer Engineering.
I finished my high school in 2010 , went to a Mapoly for my ND in SLT in 2011.
Now am 25yrs old,
Is it advisable to tell the VO that I have an ND certificate? Or should i fix in a work Experience between 2011 to 2014 for the VO?
And pls what are my chances of securing a visa?

Moreover, I read a transcript in here last week, where a guy was denied visa just because he said he had an ND
certificate.
Can't really figure out the name of the person but he chose UCO.

Hi friends, I was not granted Visa today at d consulate in Abuja. Below is my story and please I will be welcoming your comments and judgement to make me well equipt for my next appointment by the special grace of God. It goes like this.

Me : gud morning
V.O: Silent
Me: Good morning ma
V.O: pass me ur documents please
She scan through my documents starting with my passport then spent more time looking at my I-20. Noticed I was awarded a scholarship of almost half the tuition.
V.O: Why do you want to do MPH
Me: I gave her a convincing and detailed answer.
V.O : Nods head and ask: why U.S
Me: told her about hw committed U.S is to excellence, flexibility and all dat
V.O : who is ur sponsor
Me: My dad
Asked for his statement and I gave her
V.O: looked through the statement for like a minute, then turned to her computer and was busy typing, then she handed a white paper to me and said sorry bla bla bla. And returned my passport and I-20.
The first sentence is ' dear applicant, this is to inform u dat u hv been found in eligible under section 214(b) of the U.S immigration and nationality act. A denial under section...................means u did nt meet d requirments of d classification of d non immigrant visa for which u applied for'

Pls house help me out on what I need to do as I plan to book for another appointment. Thank you

Hello Jenns,
Its okay,to tell the VO you have an ND qualification..when asked what other qualification you have..only produce your certificate when asked to.You can also put in your job/work experience if you've got any.

Your chances at securing a visa? It's 100percent,hope you did the SAT and other toefl.

Goodluck,God's favour!!
