Can someone help on this undecided undecided undecided

USD is a really good school, not a lot of nigerians or Africans there though.

If u stay on campus for the first year and u have 2.5gpa and above, u can get free housing and meal plan from second year through their community advisor program. I know someone who attends the school currently.

It's understandable there are almost no blacks in west Virginia and it's a relatively poor state.

Good job though. You stood your ground.

My Transcript goes thus at the Lagos embassy 6.30am 25th Nov :

After rejecting like 4 people at a troll including a whole family that wanted to go on holiday... she was the Brunette/Latino at the third counter

VO Hey Good morning
Me Hi
VO your mission in the US
Me going for my masters degree in fin and risk mgt
VO checked my passport and immediately asked how did you find out about the school
Me I did extensive research on the internet using usnews.com and princetonreview.com
VO so why University of Colorado Denver
Me (gave her the regular bobo) the curriculum fits my career goals, and the finance courses I reviewed gave me the opportunity to specialize in corporate finance by selecting electives such as MERGER AND ACQUISITION, FINANCIAL MODELLING AND INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT (didn't even know what I was saying at this point but I remained confident and finished my sentence and she was already nodding)
VO immediately stopped typing and concentrated on me now asked how many other schools did you apply to
Me 2 schools GWU and UMASS
VO what made you select UCD over the other schools
Me my main reason asides the facts listed above was that I stumbled on a publication online by a professor in the finance department Rick Simmons, in the publication he stated "What is the value of a firm, what price are u willing to pay" this means what an acquiring company willing to pay to a target company to gain control and all other related activities in the capital market. (at this point she was nodding like agama lizard) may be she didn't really understand but she was impressed. even me sef no understand but I just dey bobo dey goh.
VO what did you study and what school
Me BSC Acct LAG
VO when did u graduate
Me 23 December 20xx (make sure u mention the same date month and year in ur DS160 I noticed she was looking at it on her screen)
VO what have u been doing since then
Me went for NYSC, and worked with xxxx left the company and I am currently with xxxx
VO what do u do there
Me consultancy services to clients in the Bleep industry
VO who is ur sponsor
Me My dad
VO what does he do
Me he's a director with xxxx company
VO I guess imma gonna have to issue u a VISA, here is your I-20, u can pick it up on Friday. please keep ur I-20 close to you at all times as you will need to show it at the POE. you are also invited to an orientation program blah blah blah (at this point I was not hearing anything again, I had gone deaf)
Me thank you.. turned back and signaled @osahons9 to give him adequate ginger (as he was looking really tensed up lol) and walked away.

No bank statement was asked, No GRE or TOEFL report requested. nothing

Key.. 1 Please put God first. I can't count how many times I prayed for his favour.
2. speak boldly and in clear terms and make sure u complete each sentence you start. this means u are able to pass across ur message. it gives you a level of respect
3. Smile and always put on an aura of pride around you especially during interviews. shows them that you are not desperate.

Thanks Guys, this thread really helped me a lot and special shout out to @Bigfrancis for taking time out of his busy schedule to assist me.

adios

I wasn't tensed. I dey pray to avoid that chinko. She was just on a 214b spree. Besides you were frowning, I was like hope it's not 214b oh

Your reasons for choosing the school was weak. She gave you another chance again to tell her why you chose the school, again you blew it. You got the initial part of the curriculum although you didn't say anything about the ranking. I feel the second part was where u messed up. You would have said it's because of a research done by the prof that it tallies with your research interest and you want to join the research team.

Now you will need to know more about d research. Incase they ask what d research is all about and relate it to the industry or sector you want to work in when u return home (WE KNOW THE STORY)

What I noticed yesterday was that people cram answers and when a different questions comes up they off balance. Read, cram and understand. You will know when to explain and when to give crammed answers.

Refire bro.

All the best
I agree with oshasons.....be more articulate in your explanations and buttress your points using some technical terms

Yes he can file for you under family but you will be on the waiting list for at least 10 years....this is because you are not an immediate family member of your sponsor who in this case is your uncle. Your age now plus 10 years is when it's likely to reach your turn.

if you can buttress your point by adding that you also did your research on the school and state specifics about why you chose the school in connection to the representatives coming to nigeria it could be a strong point.

West Virginia not Virginia. Virginia is a very rich state
Detroit is a dump by American standards
Newark is another dump

Google poverty in Mississippi delta or watch YouTube videos. And also poverty in west Virginia.

These are places you go to school (CHEAP TUITION AND COST OF LIVING) and after that, find your way out fast or you'd be stuck there while your people will be wondering if their son is actually in America gringrin

I understand though but you saying poverty makes it look like a state in Somalia (pardon me)....lol...yeah its one of the last states in the us in terms of economy, that's true.

Walspring, please do u know when embassy might close for the year? University of Dayton has not sent me admission letter or I-20 form yet and they haven't said anything about deferring my admission to Fall 2015. I applied for Spring 2015.

Well embassy will only close(d) for Nigeria public holiday and U.S. Public Holiday...

Is better you call your school and para for them or maybe they have send it through regular mail to you and they didnt tell you.

Thanks, Walspring. The last time I called them, they said I should give them 10 working days and that will be like on 9th of December. The delay is because the first statement of account I sent thru DHL to the school showed delivered whereas the school said they did not receive it after couple of weeks that I sent it.

Also, that will conflict with your non-immigrant status and might bring issues if you intend to say apply for another F-1 visa or another non-immigrant visa later...cos it shows you have immigrant intent. F-1 visas don't allow for dual intent.
