Congrats bro. That's a pretty decent verbal score for an engineering student. Infact percentilewise ur verbal score is better than ur quant. At this point ur gre score won't be a hindrance at the schools ur applying to, good luck with your application.

Horayce na so I see am....didnt expect that V score .

hello house,

I have seen a lot of transcripts with VOs asking to know how many schools that you applied to , as for me I only applied to just one school and I got my admission ..Please what kind of response can I give if I am asked this question

Secondly , Like how much balance should I have in my SOA relative to the amount stated on the I20.

please I need honest responses
you can actually tell the VOs you applied to 3 or more schools, cos saying you applied to only 1 school would hurt your chances ( the VOs are no superhuman to know the number of schools you applied to)

the closing balance must or should be morethan or equivalent to the total expense stated on your I-20

the main campus is in downtown Houston. they do not send through fedex, they will send through regular mail, call your admission officer and tell her how you want your i20 to be fixed.
if it's by regular mail i may as well say bye bye UH. It's already december. And while i know nipost needs love there's just little time between now and resumption in january to be taking chances with a slowpoke system. Hope u'v enjoyed ur time in houston so far? Dyu know of any masters student that has transfered to a different program after a semester? Cos i'm potenntially looking at defering to fall and hitting the embassy with an i20 on hand.

What if u genuinely only applied to that program because it's the only school offering that specialist course in the US? Anything wrong with a little honesty? As you allude in ur post, if the VO's are only human then a honest but convincing answer should suffice over a prepackaged one that you are expected to give, just my opinion tho..

okay its an "if" statement.... which can also mean not only one school can offer the specialist course in the US

that settles it.

If the VO was indeed convinced that he presented a fake document, why didn't she issue a permanent ineligibility penalty? I also do not want to believe she would write that he presented presented fake document, when she could have given an instant lifetime ban.

That's my believe.

Maybe, just maybe VO was not entirely convinced that it was fake, hence, 214(b).

lols. VO went in with the statement of account and come back and with refusal. Question is on a good day, does VO go in with applicant's statement of account? It takes no time to call the bank for confirmation. Sometimes VOs pronounce ban and sometimes they don't, it's after applying for like 6 times without any success that the story becomes clear to you.

He shouldn't waste his money and take it as fate.

shogsdogg No need to be dishonest about this.Just research the unique stuffs about the school/your choice course well and be ready to make your case convincing enough without talking too much. People in your situation get visas as well-it's not enough reason for the VO to deny you a visa

Think about what happens if the VO gets to know somehow that you're lying...

Hello everyone. I'm new here buh gone thru some of the past threads. Glory to God I got my visa yesterday in Abuja. God actually did it cos I was honestly avoiding and praying in my heart not to go to the black american lady as she had denied countless people. Buh ended up going to her and I was granted

That's my interpretation of it.

hello House,
greetings to the legends: walspring, amefrica, slimmy05, azeezahbee, bigfrancis21, imperiouxx, Feexo, edib, MsNas and every other amazing contributor.

Need ur opinion:

I applied to the University of bridgeport and Western Illinios University for an Msc in Computer Science for Spring 2015 session, however, due to transcript verification delays by my university (University of Port-Hacourt) i am yet to receive any admission decision. Luckily, i was able to sort this out and should be getting an admission decision shortly.

My question is, would it still be possible to make the spring 2015 academic session given that

1. I have not been given admission, not gotten my I-20, not done a Visa Interview and paid the Sevis Fee.

and

2. Academic activities commence on Jan 13, 2015 for both schools.

I am also an alumni of uniport. My candid advice is to differ to fall 2015. It will afford you time to prepare yourself. You can still book for interview July, 2015.

You don't have to put yourself on extension letter. Embassy have public holidays and before admission decision, sevis fee payments, visa booking and filling ds160. We are already in December by Monday.

Yes you can. Jan 13 is about 1 month+. However, you'll need to be extremely proactive at this point.

First, once you've been given admission, email your school immediately requesting for your Sevis number. This will enable you pay your SEVIS fee and book your visa interview date while you await your I20 in the mail.

Second, request for and pay for your I20 to be sent to you via courier (expedited delivery). This will ensure that your I20 gets to you in about 1 week from its dispatch date.

Third, once you have been emailed your SEVIS ID, proceed immediately to pay your SEVIS fee, fill out the DS160 form and book your visa interview. Book a date by december ending or january first week. Give some time in between the date and your school resumption date to enable you prepare body, mind and soul and and buy necessary things you will need. You will also need to book a flight. You can either book it after you get your visa or right away if you have the money. Booking right away will enable you book at the cheapest cost possible (since there's till time) while booking a week or few days to school resumption is more costlier. The good thing is if you book now and you later happen to not make it at the visa interview, you can always request for a refund from the airline. Emirates refunds fully unused tickets. They might charge a little percentage, though.

Those 3 things are the things you'll need to do if you want to meet up.

Mr you're saying this because you know little about how ban is handed over after being caught as a phony. Circumstances with which you're caught determines how the ban is handed over to you. I only have little time for NL nowadays, I would have loved giving you links to cases.

An area brother once paid application fee via someone who used a hacked credit card for the payment. The school (bowling green) later told him of the development but he went to the embassy afterwards, he got refused. After two more trials with another school, a kind hearted VO told him about the reasons he always get refused, fake credit card for application fee. He try to rectify this issue with the school but it wasn't successful. So tell me how was his ban handed to him? He always gets 2(b) whatever everytime he's refused.

So just answer my first question in a simple sentence, on a normal day do VOs collect bank statements, go in and after some minutes come back and say you're refused? And if that happens and you know the bogus account you handed to them and the consequence that follows, what do you think that just happened? Remember the agent told him they wont confirm the account but this VO went in with the account and come out with a bad news, what does that tell you?

I quite agree with you on the fact that the VO "suspected" that the account was fake and hence took it to the back room to "confirm" if it was indeed a fake account.

Like you said, circumstances determines how the ban is issued out. I was not there and you were not there, my believe still remains the same. But there is a rule that applies to every applicant who's caught misrepresting facts, or not having strong ties with home country.

The guy got a 214b, and that means he still has the chance to reapply, whether or not he's issued/not issued in the future is inconsequential. I never said he WILL be issued the next time he applies. But to say he was banned permanently or for 10 years, is what I do not agree with.

Concerning your area bro, he used a hacked credit card to apply to school or embassy? If school, how come the embassy is denying him based on issues he has with the school? If embassy (a Nigerian applicant), not sure you can pay with credit card for your visa.

So please come up with a different example.

When you have time, please paste the links here.

Are you the one that went to the consulate with fake documents? Cos it sure sounds as if it is. If you were given 214(b) then go back and try your luck since you're sure you weren't banned. One thing though, make sure you go with genuine documents this time around
