At times I don't understand NA strategy of "WAIT TO BE ATTACK," . Boko Haram attack Damaturu from Gujuba LGA, and this same Gujuba was captured from NA two months ago, and its just 50km to Damaturu. You don't need a Rocket Scientist to tell you Boko Haram intend to use Gujuba as a launching base to attack Damaturu. But yet, the NA instead of recaputuring Gujuba at all cost to create a kinda of Buffer zone, they just stood and wait for Boko Haram to attack them, while they scramble to fight back.

Immediately after an attack ,they melt among the masses and even before an attack there is no way of picking them out. This is the major reason why gej and his military advisers must see the urgency and importance of fully bringing on board and engaging the services of the civilian jtf and vigilante group in these communities. They are the ones that can pick out strange faces and monitor peoples movement effectively. I know the government may not want to give them undue recognition as they maybe use by state govs to transform them into state police. But they are the best weapon against boko haram as at present.

you have raised some valuable points . 1) boko haram members don't need to meet in large groups before penetrating a city,terrorist operates in cells of 5s or 10s. And we are in an age of modern technology ,all that needs to be done is for 3 leaders to meet and send text messages or ims to their foot soldiers, and they will trickle into the city unnoticed. The second issue which you raised is the number 1 problem confronting the army and that is the existence of large number of boko haram members among the army. You are absolutely correct bh members won't like to have their names in a registers but there are ways of going about it . Security or intelligence units don't usually use real names of their member on registers ,they use aliases, if the army wants to do it ,they know how to go about it. But it seems accepting the civilian jtf and engaging them will be interpreted as the army acceptance that they have failed and that they can't deal with bh,which is composed of ill trained civilians. I think the military doesn't want a civilian group to be seen as more effective than the nigerian army. We have heard of the successes of the civilian jtf ,but each time they defeat boko haram and ppl start applauding them , the military pushes them back to the background. Boko haram issue can be crushed in a matter of weeks if the military and gej wants it to be crushed.
