Politics in Nigeria is indeed an interesting game as even at the dying minute, evidence will surely emerge just to prove a point about a contestant.
The former Accountant General of Lagos state and one of the highly favoured to emerge as the flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress in the ongoing party Primaries, Akinwunmi Ambode, might likely not win if reports reaching us is anything to go by.
According to CityRovers, it has been revealed that the form he filled for his Joint Matriculation Examination Board (JAMB) examination in 1983, as it is observed that he is from Ondo state.
Ambode, who has been enjoying massive support from the majority, may be investigated as some of the aggrieved politicians have petitioned the Inspector General of Police, IGP Suleiman Abba calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of a governorship aspirant of the party for committing perjury in his INEC form and his JAMB form.

Its nothing to do with illiteracy, even in advanced democracy it happens. He should have said where he came from rather than leaving it to reporters to unearth the truth. Obama was constantly harangued by the Republicans to prove he was born in the united states, he had to publish his birth certificate on-line last year.

Anyone who has stayed in Lagos for a certain number of years(not sure of the number) is a Lagosian. Ambode served in the civil service for decades so I'm sure he has fulfilled the requirements of the law.

My apologies for the blunt statement from earlier, it just gets a bit frustrating when I hear tribe this and location that.

In relation to your question though, that is the Nigeria I dream of, where an Hausa man can rule in Lagos, an Igbo man in Kano, a Yoruba man in Anambra and so on.

I really want a United Nigeria where merit is the order of the day, where the very best of the best can get to be administrators of the states in which they reside.

This is a clear case of perjury. Nobody has said he can't contest, even an ibo man who has lived long In Lagos is eligible. The issue is that Ondo state is his state of Origin. Why the false declaration? Perjury is punishable under the Nigerian constitution. If PDP let this one slip, then they should forget Lagos forever.
