A heartbreaking development of the story about the soldiers’ mutiny, which was followed by the severe court punishment. It would be recalled that the military court, on December 17, sentenced 54 soldiers to death over mutiny. The convicts attached to the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, disobeyed orders to join operations against Boko Haram on August 4. They were accused of conspiring to commit mutiny against the Division authorities. Lawyer and human rights activist, Femi Falana (SAN), expressed shock over the court verdict saying: “Instead of bringing such unpatriotic officers to book, the military authorities have engaged in the diversionary tactics of wasting the lives of innocent soldiers by sentencing them to death without any legal justification.” One of the convicted soldiers used his Facebook account after the sentence announcement to post this heartbreaking message. Fahat Fahat, soldier sentenced to death over mutiny “Hello ladies and gentlemen. I am soldier and I am sentenced to death by the Nigerian Army. (be)Cause we did not go to fight Boko Haram without equipment. We ask for weapon instead (they) gave (us) death sentence.” http://www.naij.com/346340-soldier-sent-to-death-over-mutiny-speaks-up.html |

If you can find a picture of an unarmed nigerian solider or proof of this other than talk from someone that defected than you can speak. Until then we have to respect the laws of this land and abide by them. If you desert your post in the military you are to be killed. This solider knew this and deserted anyways to avoid Boko Haram killing him based on his own implied assumption. The villagers he left for boko haram to murder torture and r@pe, who armed them? What munitions did the federal government give them? You can tell he's a coward because till this day he's still making excuses for this cowardice and didn't mention the people he left to be murdered by the invaders without a fight. |

Just like in the movie game of thrones, every deserter must be beheaded. They signed in to the military, so they should face the drumbeats. |

This is evil, heart breaking, lawless and evil evil evil! No Nigerian should support their deaths, fvck Military laws or any fvcking oaths! What is the President saying on this? So just like chibok, he is still clueless on what to do here. A Sensible leader will take bold steps and pardon them in order to sway public favor to his side as election approaches. Another type of leader can also allow the military do what they want but he will be the first to issue out statements and have a media talk with nigerians on the issue, but not with jonathan, i'm not sure if he even has a brain at all. |

Ikengawo:are you the henchman of the 'pictures or adonbillivit' parade? then you need to grow up. If you can't believe the words of a dying man, then you are not fit to continue living yourself because people like you are the cold heart killers with their minds backwards beneath the ground. |

Ikengawo:Respect the law of the land like we did when we slaughtered your grandfathers, grandmothers, nieces, uncles, cousins and love ones during civil war. Respect the law of the land as we respected it the same way we rape.d, maimed and molested your mothers, sisters, aunties, and grandmothers during civil war. |

so, because his a soldier, he has no right to protect his live? May be he fell from above. E no get family. Abi?[/quote]yes from the day He signed up He has signed his death warrant. Do you really know what it takes to join the millitary? And why they take oaths? I don't pity this guys they broke the law they should face the music. Even if they were given sticks to engage bokoharam thats what they signed up for so don't bring the argument of ''they were not properly equiped'' Nigeria maintains a professional army not an army of conscripts where people are forced to join. So anybody you see in the armed forces did so out of free will and must be ready to abide by the laws governing the armed forces. |
