Below are what you need to know about D&C.
D&C is safer a thousand times than over the
counter drugs to remove unwanted pregnancies yet
it comes with it's own life threatening risks.
Sit right and read this.
Dilation and curettage (widely known as abortion)
is very dangerous, especially when done by
quacks. I will therefore advise that no woman
should submit to this because of these reasons
enumerated below;
Perforation of the womb : since the inside of the
womb has a particular depth, it is possible
(especially by quacks) to dilate the womb further
by forcing the dilating material through the walls
of the womb. This hole even tears more during
child-birth. Luckily for some people, the hole heals
and completely closes up. This happens if the hole
is a small one. However, if the hole is big, there
would be a temporary healing meaning that
whenever the womb resumes work, for example,
during child-birth, there would be a heavy
menstrual loss during labour, when the womb
begins to contract to push out the baby, there
would be every possibility of the womb to tear
from the site of that perforation. This tear will be
more dangerous if it occurs near a vital blood
vessel because the woman will bleed
uncontrollably. This could lead to her death, her
baby's death or both. But if no death occurs. the
only possible way to deliver the baby will be by an
operation and if this is not safe for the woman, her
womb will be cut off. Another harm done is
infection which is introduced by dirty instruments.
This harm is so great that she may be infected
with tetanus which might kill her or cause her
womb to rot away. Should she survive the tetanus
infection, the womb will rot away and to save the
situation, it will be cut by the surgeon thereby
making her unable to succeed in conception. More
so, tubal blockage which is caused by introduced
germs to the womb that has now reached the
fallopian tubes may arise. Please note that it is
hard to cure tubal blockage by orthodox medicine.
Abortion can lead to Ashermann's syndrome.
Ashermann's syndrome is the situation whereby a
woman may miss her period and yet, not be
pregnant. This occurs when quacks overscrape the
womb.
Before I go on, I will like to say that the womb is
made up of two surfaces. Now when the first
surface is overscraped, the two surfaces of the
womb may join together so that there will be no
more opening for menstrual bleeding. Don't be
afraid, the probability of having those
complications after D&C is small but if it happens,
you may live to regret it for the rest of your life.
