adexsimply:Because many people disobeyed God's rules...one of which was good leadership and lack of corruption....which would have put in place policies that would have at the very best prevented the deaths. Think about that, next time someone excuses little sins like selling of votes, and rigging. That is why the Bible is soooo against SIN....because the sin someone commits today may affect lots of people tomorrow. |

DNBCrew:You don't get it, do you? Alright....parables time! A certian ruler awarded a contract for the reconstruction of a road. The contract included the building of a bridge across the road. The contractor connived with some people in the Finance Ministry...and used substandard materials...thereby committing a sin....and as a result....eight moinths after the bridge was finished....it collapsed when a bus filled with school kids was crossing....and most died, with the rest maimed in varied ways for life. In this case....if there were good leaders who mandated and enforced fire safety codes...because a good leader always thinks of the welfare of the people.....as the Bible says.....there would have been no deaths...because the fire alarm in the house would have woken up the man and his family in time. And if there had been no official corruption....there would have been an efficeint fire serivce to deal with the crisis? Still don't get what I was saying in my post you responded to? Then you may need to read again. Sins always affect someone else. Always. And in bad ways. |

'Generator, Gas cooker,Candle & Boiling ring' popularly called 'Heater' are d major tools d devil uses 2 claim lives over d yrs. When these items are in use, don't ever think of taking a nap let alone sleep. Its better 2 avoid dem completely. Replace boiling ring wit electric kettles or jugs wit automated switching off device. D gas cylinder shud never be in d kitchen. If u live wer it can't be placed outside or wer u can't monitor it strictly cos of little children, abeg use Stove. Replace Candles wit rechargeable lanterns or touchlights. Replace Gens wit inverters or better still, switch dem off b4 going 2 bed; D weather can't be dat hot enuf 2 kill u. BTW: ds is harmattan period na RIP 2d dead. |

GodMode:Moving the goal posts....are we? Well...the principle is simples...religion or no....do something wrong...and someone somewhere suffers for it. But....I prefer to think that religion gives one a perfect and clear view of what is right and wrong (I am a Christian....and recently, my relgion has helped a lot in realisng how self centered I can be). But that is a prolonged discussion for a fresh Nairaland thread..... For now...the Aesop from this is clear....someone sinned by stealing money and by failing to do his/her job....and this is the result. You Nigerians should not only vote for good leaders....you should be good leaders.! |
