Don't even go there. This is all an election strategy, if I were him I would just shift it to feb 15th.
Opposition will definitely see it as election strategy! people the policy will affect the means of income will always throw up sentimental talk to truncate the policy no matter the time of tenure the pronouncements are made about the policy, a policy you and I know will be beneficial to the country,so its expected

The main thing is that the automotive policy is achieving its goals quickly even beyond expectation
Assembly plants, spare parts manufactures and jobs are springing up rapidly.

Government sticking to its guns at the same trying as much as possible to make it easy for the affected citizens is what I commend.

GEJ is only trying to avoid antagonising the people the more. . .given that election is close. . .if it would take my vote to prevent him from increasing the said tariff and totally phasing out subsidy next year, then so be it. Click like if you will vote 4 Buhari. . .Share if GEJ is your choice. . .HNY

Am happy that now we can vote and determine. Who be the next leader.... Nigeria is changing. I don't believe in political party but I believe in personality.Let us try another hands... GEJ is trying... But he can't stay there forever get this into ur skull.

APC people must find fault in everything, and they are always online waiting for topic that involves GEJ

I wonder if they have time for their self again!

Nigerians should find an alternative to political tricks cz GEJ or BUHARI cannot give you guys what you clamor For,politicians are all liars with empty promises and deceits! Don't kill your self for them.

charactistics of a listening Democratic government!

Pushing its laudable program at same time putting the citizens interest in consideration.

A very difficult job to do!
If it was really a listening government they would have scrapped the proposal entirely instead of postponing it until after the election. This is obviously nothing more than a political gimmick and it won't work.

Pure election strategy. This Is to show the increament was not for the Good course of the economy, it is for the soul aim of embezzling our money. He knew the increament will be a stumbling block to his re-election.

Election strategy.
Re: FG Postpones 35% Levy On Used Cars Till April 30 by Nobody: 1:26pm On Jan 01, 2015
It is more of a political move, methinks.

What GEJ should have done is kept the increase....while announcing plans to fire up the furnaces at Ajaokuta.....and his plans to increase electricity generation further.

Because....oil prices are a-falling....and may even reach $20 before the middle of this month.....unless PDP gets us off oil addiction.

Don't worry! This present govt wouldn't last till April 2015, By February already, Buhari would unseat GEJ and this policy would fade into thin air.

Even with a new government....I expect GMB assuming he wins to go back to the savings policy of his previous time in office....which may include raising tarrifs on imported goods. And if PDP stays they may do the same thing.....especially as oil prices may go below $20 before the middle of this year....no thanks to the glut in the market...and OPEC'S increasing irrelevance.

Yes...and in the long term....we could have the same problem we had in the 1980's with PAN, Volkswagen of Nigeria etc plants.....unless we get Ajaokuta working again. All those plants will rely on imported materials to make their cars.....which is OK if you are Japan with a large global market....but not Nigeria.
