That is last months idea. He was just thinking aloud, surely you didn't think he meant one word of it.

You STILL don't get it, Mr Clueless!

1. In a country where corruption is so endemic, so widespread and so ingrained in almost every institution, there is NO WAY you can clean the menace without arresting and EXECUTING JAILING the corrupt and criminal elements, especially those who loot hundreds of millions.

2. If you cannot catch and PUNISH THE BIG CULPRITS who steal billions of the public money, then you can as well tell our police and the courts to STOP arresting and jailing THE PETTY CRIMINALS who steal PEANUTS compared to what your friends, associates and mentors loot DAILY from our common treasury!

3. You have just proved, ONCE AGAIN, that you have NOT got the amount of MORAL COURAGE that is needed to confront THE BIG THIEVING ELITE of this country.

4. And since you have NOT confronted them before, nobody should expect you to even try to confront them now, when MANY of them are either using the looted money to fund your re-election or are mouthing their support for your campaign, which they know is the surest way of getting away with all what they have looted, and are looting!

5. If not for your cluelessness and HALF-HEARTED commitment to fighting corruption, how on earth would you dismiss and even mock the age-long, tested and trusted way of deterring criminals (i.e. arresting them and jailing them), only for you to come up with A VAGUE and RIDICULOUS idea of 'strengthening the institutions' as an alternative?

6. Since you have recanted your earlier comments and now, like the rest of us, admit that corruption is one of the two major problems in this country, HOW do you think the corrupt operators of the corrupt system would allow you to 'strengthen the institutions', without first getting rid of them?

7. By this your comment, Mr President, you have just added URGENCY to the determination of Nigerian masses to see that you GIVE WAY to someone who can do a BETTER JOB of looking the thieving elite in the face, on our behalf, and telling them that ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

How can he fight corruption when he wines and dines with the likes of Alamiseya and visits his corruption daddy Ibb? Gej you are a joke.Buhari take over abeg, let's see what you can do.

If twisting the issues the President raised would make you guys happy, then keep regaling yourself.

Objective and intelligent Nigerians could decipher the propriety of the President's speech. Corruption is endemic to the Nigerian system and can't go away with a wave of a magic wand.

He said, “There are two main problems confronting us as a nation: The issue of insecurity in the North where we have the Boko Haram terrorists and in the South where we have commercial kidnapping. The next thing that people worry about after security is the issue of corruption.

“We are coming out with programmes and plans to clean up. These are things that you don’t just use a magical wand to wave off, otherwise even before I became the President, there wouldn’t have been corruption in Nigeria.

“It is not just about shouting corruption. It is not about looking at one person, arrest the person and show him on television.

“It is about strengthening institutions and coming up with credible plans to make sure that anybody who gets involved with corruption, the system must have a way of detecting him and punishing him.

“Until you put such a system on ground, you cannot talk about eradicating corruption, you will just be celebrating corruption.”

HE DOESN'T EVEN BELIEVE IN IT.
...That people worry about

with a president like Gej, believe me you'll appreciate Obj. what Obj achieved in 8yrs despite the fact that we were coming from a military era, Gej has not achieved 10% in 6yrs. We don't hear about efcc, icpc, nafdac, son, ndlea etc anymore. have they been scrapped? Governors were seriously under check. even Tinubu could not steal funds. SERIOUSLY WE NEED CHANGE!!!!

What a way to start a year!

Chibok girls still missing - he's coming up with a rescue plan

Boko Haram still striking - he's coming up with a plan to fight them

Economy dwindling - he's coming up with austerity measures plan

Electricity worsened - he's coming up with privatization plan

Nation already overwhelmed by corruption - he's coming up with anti corruption plan.

GEJ.. You are the definition of CLUELESS

..... Plz we beg you with whatever you believe in, just leave honorably. I believe you will make history if you can be the first democratic president to resign, you will be honored and respected....

Thanks for your concern. It's visible to the blind and audible to the deaf that the current administration lacks what it takes to solve the economic and social crisis facing the country. WE NEED CHANGE PLEASESSSSSSSSSS. Nigeria is currently the biggest economy in Africa with power generation capacity of 4000 megawatts with over 170m population. What a SHAME.

Believe me I lost hope in Goodluck Ebele Jonathan when he became president.
In One of my classes in Taiwan one of my students asked me whom our president was , I told her GEJ , what she said that day took me off guard , she knew about Africa and she is advanced in age. This what she said:

Oh! That man is your president ? He looks dull, weak and Timid. I think your Country would be in trouble .

After class I pondered what she said and just as she spoken it's happening.

I don't hate our president but believe me any Nigerian who really needs a change in our Country would see that he should not be there .Any sane Nigerian should retain his or her sanity by voting sanely on that day .

This President is a comedian, when he leaves office in Febuary 2015,Basketmouth and I Go Dye will have some serious competition. So if it took him 6 years and 2 months before election to come up with a plan how long will it then take to implement the plan?

You are the one allowing blatant tribalism to becloud your ability to reason objectively.

What did Obasanjo your brother do in 8 years to completely eradicate corruption in Nigeria?

Just like the President stated, what we need to combat corruption in Nigeria is to build strong institutions that would make it very difficult for corruption to thrive. Obama himself has averred that Africa basically needs strong institutions to consolidate on democracy and development.

You guys just latch on distortion of issues to make you happy. Patriotic Nigerians know how to sieve the wheat from the chaff. You are only succeeding in hoodwinking yourself.

You want Jonathan to start throwing people indiscriminately into jail under the guise of fighting corruption. Where has that happened? Jonathan acknowledged that corruption is a major problem in the system: he just told you his action plan for tackling the problem decisively.

Is Jonathan obligated to tell you exactly what you want to hear, even when that wouldn't bode well with the corporate well-being of the nation?

“We are going back to those good days when we had vision. We have plan for agriculture, we have plan for industry, we have plan for automobile and many other areas.
“If you have a vision, any proposal that comes in, no matter how good they are, must fall into your vision for it to go through. With your prayers, surely as a nation, we will get to where our vision will take us to.
“Having passed through school and being in government for quite some time, I have realised that for you to achieve anything, you must have a clear vision. - GEJ 2015

Its only today I agree with different names (clueless, vissionless, scenseless.....) you were being called.
By the way, did I just hear you saying you are going back to the past when things were normal?
Don't worry again, one of your aids has already said Buhari will take us back to 1985 when things were normal. So, dt vission of yours is no more needed or it may still be usefull in Otuoke.

@Kinethic What your student told you in Taiwan about our leader is visible to the blind and a statement of FACT. Thank God she is a Taiwanese and not a member of the opposition party in Nigeria. Between ethnicity and Religion people throw away common sense in Nigeria. Our power generation capacity is less than 4000 megawatts in Nigeria and this cannot even power Johannesburg in South Africa. We need strategic thinkers to come on board to rescue my homeland called Nigeria.
