It is with sadness that I saw and read what Fr Mbaka said about Jonathan. He said that Jonathan surrounded himself with corrupt officials and that Jonathan is prolly corrupt. Though I am a catholic and A Christian (By Birth not by choice), I am greatly dissapointed in you this time around. Though you have been at the fore front criticizing evil on a neutral ground, it seems you have turned suddenly and taken a stand. Mbaka, where you not the same person supporting Jonathan in 2011? Why did the holy spirit not tell you then that he will become "badluck" later on? Where you not the same person that criticised Ohakim for flogging a priest and you later changed your comments this year? Fr, let me ask you, when Buhari was making incitory remarks that led to the post election violence of 2011, where were you? Why did you not speak against him? When Mbaise people were yearning for their legitimate aspirations of having their son ordained a bishop and their yearnings swept under the carpet, where were you? When politicians steal public funds and use it to build a house for god, where were you? In the East where am from, come and see how politicians use gullible so called men of god to wreck anarchy. The new trend is now using millions and billions to build houses for god while the masses around them wallow in hunger. Mbaka, When so many families in the USA filed a petition for Child abuse against some religious leaders and the Vatican refused to indict them and eventually cleared them of wrong doing, where were you father? If it was one family, I would have said it may be an attack on the church. But this was the case of so many families yearning for justice! I have never for one day seen you speak out vehemently about the corruption in the church. The corruption in the church is more explicit than what you see outside. It may look as if everything is holy, rosy and divine from afar. But When you get close enough to the presbytery, you will discover what I am saying. Who will speak against bishops who send their purported priest enemies to interior and remote villages while sending their "boys" to the oil parishes? Who will speak for the seminarians who were rejected admission in most dioceses because they are not from there or their parents are not rich? Who will speak out against peoples wives being kept as concubines by most presbytery? He also mentioned the issue of Chibok girls and their disappearance. Father if I may ask, why has the holy spirit not revealed you their location? Fr, since you believe so much in the holy spirit and not in human reason, why not tell the holy spirit to come and fix our energy sector, power sector, agriculture sector, health sector.. etc? Fr, why not tell the Northern cabals who are holding this girls ransom to bring them out? He also spoke about the rising Poverty during Jonathan's administration. Fr, Why not tell Aliko Dangote to release some of his 21 billion dollars and alleviate the poverty of majority of Nigerians? Again father, I read you indirectly supported Buhari. Am not sure about this though but father if it is true, I laugh at the church in Swahili. We don't know what we are dabbling with. The above are one of the major reasons I thank the creator for enlightening me last year with the reason he gave me. Religion as it has so many inherent problems. I would have written further, but I wouldn't like to scandalize people and make them loose faith in the "church". I want people to find out the truth by themselves. To the Igbos out there, do not be confused by most of these bad endorsements being given to Jonathan which you see online. Majority of them are mere propaganda. To the honest Nigerians out there, Jonathan is a victim of circumstance same way that everybody is. I know that he may not have tried enough but who is better? Who is the saint among us? Even myself writing is not free from the corruption of this world. This world is corrupt. People who make effort not to be corrupt are just being moral which is commendable. Its not as if there is a god out there who makes them to do it or not. Directly or indirectly, we get involved in it. Clean money and dirty money, how do you tell the difference when it is offered to you? Mtcheeeew. Its not just enough to stand by and talk what you don't know till you get there. To all my Nairaland friends, vote with your conscience. Never vote anybody because of his religion or tribe. Don't vote because your so called religious leader told you who to vote or not. Vote someone you know had impacted on you or will make positive impact on you and the nation. Vote someone who is passionate and compassionate about the plight of humanity. Vote someone who will always fight for the cause of the poor and the needy. Vote someone who stands for justice. Above all, vote someone who fears God and not religion. Let your conscience be your judge because posterity will judge all of us. What we leave behind for the coming generation will judge us. FINALLY, I WILL ADVISE THE CHURCH NOT TO DABBLE INTO DIRTY POLITICS. SPREAD THE GOSPEL YOU WERE PURPOTEDLY TOLD TO SPREAD. My 2 Cents! cc: Seun Lalasticlala |

Got bored halfway, problem with long write ups. It's the duty of religious leaders to guide their folks, if he changed his perception towards an individual, circumstances which you and I may not be aware of could have pre-empted it. It's left for his congregation to decide in whom to vote |

{ When Mbaise people were yearning for their legitimate aspirations of having their son ordained a bishop and their yearnings swept under the carpet, where were you?} He did my dear Op maybe u didnt know. He almost ridiculed the Nigerian catholic bishops in that sermon and exposing the dirty politics involved in bishop selection. Here is a link to the video. One thing is certain. Mbaka's new year message is doing wonders for APC and Buhari's campaign. Ihave been going through comments on Ndi Igbo facebook page. There seem to be a lot of converts to Buhariism. A LOT! My Igbo brothers have started asking questions that need to be asked. Your writeup here is like a big ballon which will take only a pin to burst because it is clouded in ethno-religious bigotry. I can safely say that Mbaka's pronouncements must have added no less than 50,000 votes for Buhari in the SE. This is significant because those 50k people will also dilute the unwarranted hatred shown to Buhari. |

@OP,does GEJ surround himself with corrupt officials? Yes or No? If he does, then I see no reason behind your ranting. If he doesn't then you have every right to question Mbaka. But as we all know,Gej's government abounds with corrupt officials,so Mr Protester ,what exactly are you trying to prove? It seems you're justifying GEJ'S action. If you have any issues with Fr Mbaka please go and settle that with him please. Your posts reeks of ignorance dear. |

u ve said it all...... this is a well respected man of God, I don't know y he would say does things he said. imagine saying that one of the birds he sent refused to fly, such stories sound like the ones being told to nursery school children, but Nigerians as gullible as we are we swallow those stories hook line and sinker which is as a result of illetracy. education is the key to enlightened mind. with a proper and vibrant educational system religious deciet would be a thing of the past |

Some people can abuse their father because of politicians.....Father Mbaka should ask the Holy Spirit to come and fix the energy sector? Shameful comments on someone's observation.... Anyone who sees something to correct in a government is evil like you have concluded from your post. Am also sure that Anthony Cardinal Okogie is also evil because of his stance against the corruption in this government. The same people will come and call Pastor Ayo a bling bling pastor because of his romance with GEJ........ He commented on issues, Is GEJ not surrounded with Corrupt officials? Answer that question and spare the man.... I have no issues with Labaran Maku saying GEJ is the best Nigerian President cos there are proofs...trains are working, YOUwin is there to proof, he undundled PHCN, Innnoson and other car manufacturers are here, 9 universities in about 4years..there are so many things he has done to earn him a second term...talk on those issues and stop spewing this e-rubbish... |

dejgan:Brother you dont seem to get my writeup right? Read my critique very well before talking thrash to me. The summary of what am saying is that whether we like it or not, this world thrives on corruption. Its not as if am saying Jonathan got it right in every sector. But let it be known to you that he tried his best. If you will tell yourself the gospel truth, your family is surrounded with corruption same way Jonathan is surrounded with corruption. If you have not done any corrupt thing before, raise your hand let me see? If I hear! Park well joor. Even if Buhari should get there tomorrow, corruption will find its way into his government one way or the other. So therefore, let Buhari stop parading himself as the saviour of this country! |

@exxell Sorry u have no justificatition from the above. Even if an average Nigerian is corrupt, he doesn't occupy same office as that of the president where its effect can be on virtually all the sectors of the economy unlike an individual whose corruption has a micro-effect on the economy. We don't need president who just tries his best but no results to show for the efforts, Bro we need results. Corruption exist worldwide but its extent varies, corruption in the UK is kept to the barest minimum and there are serious consequences for stealing even £100 of public funds but that can't be said of corruption in Nigeria. Corruption definitively possesses multiplier effect to any economy which in the long run very terrible. |

I don't care whether the president will come from Lebanon, all what i want is performance. Nigeria is rich but paradoxically people are poor why? i need someone who can fight this disease called corruption, someone who can transform the economy for optimal benefit.Am tired of mere promises,am tired of all this our clueless leaders,Nigeria must change for good. |

exxel the problems facing nigeria today is bigger than any problem we may have faced in our history, fr mbaka is simply frustrated at the current situation in nigeria. It is possible for naira to fall to 300 naira to a dollar before the end of this year. The type of inflation and poverty that will hit the land has never been witnessed. In the eighties when the price of oil fell, our refineries were working, we had steadier electricity, pipe borne water, even agriculture was better back then, unemployment was not as rampant, yet it took nigeria over 20 years to recover from the blunders caused by babangida during that crisis. Nigeria has just had 9 solid years of high priced oil. We should have built refineries, diversified our economy, improved our healthcare but our leaders failed to do anything positive with our opportunity (Obasanjo tried small as per debt relief). Now the price of oil has fallen, we have no money to diversify or even build refineries. If we choose to borrow, we will be borrowing money in dollars and when our naira further depreciates, we will then be in a debt trap because we will have to spend more naira to pay for the same amount of dollars we borrowed. In the 2008 financial crunch, almost every country other than the United States chose to carry out serious austerity measures to avoid this debt trap. The United States only borrows in dollars so they can do whatever they like. Today, the average nigerian already lives an austere life, how you wan make it come be when government go add extra suffering on top our head. To make matters even worse, GEJ may still be looting our collective wealth even at this very moment. This is the reason why fr mbaka spoke the way he did and not because he likes Buhari and does not like Jonathan. |

The level of corruption under GEJ is unimaginable. Look at the way he sacked Sanusi, he stopped the corruption trial of Mohammed Abacha, gave presidential pardon to a confirmed criminal, Aviation minister left untouched. where are d subsidy carbal he mentioned in his national broadcast during the subsidy protect. These are quantifiable facts and not intuitive writeup like yours.[/quote] |
