The matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty, Chief (Mrs) H.I.D Awolowo yesterday urged people of Ijebu/Remo land of Ogun State and Nigeria in general to support the ticket of Gen Muhamadu Buhari (rtd) and Prof Yemi Osinbajo as presidential and vice presidential candidates of the All Progressives Congress.
She gave her blessing yesterday in Ikenne while receiving Osinbajo and his team to her Ikenne country home.

“I am very grateful this morning to see that Yemi Osinbajo is going to higher ground and it is my prayer that he will get there. I urge you all to support his aspiration; God will take you there,” she said.

Osinbajo told Mama Awolowo that he was in Ikenne, his homestead, to receive blessings from the nonagenarian for successful outcome at the polls next month.

The APC’s vice presidential candidate also visited the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remo land, Oba (Dr) Michael Sonariwo and the Awujale and paramount ruler of Ijebu land, Oba (Dr) Kayode Adetona as part of his efforts to also receive royal blessings from the two Ogun traditional rulers.

He also attended a town hall meeting held in his honour where the coordinator of a group, Ikenne Peoples Forum, Chief Adeleke Adesina, told the gathering that the forum was established to drum up support for their kinsman. The meeting had in attendance members of different political parties.

“This is our project. The very day his name was announced as the running mate to Buhari was the very day we formed the Ikenne Peoples Forum so that we can chart a common front by supporting our son, Prof Osinbajo,” he stated.

In his remarks, Osinbajo eulogised the virtues of the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, for his giant strides as Premier of Western Nigeria stressing that APC would not derail in carrying on with his good policies and programmes.

He blamed bad leadership for all the challenges confronting the nation promising that his party would bring about the desired change in all ramifications.

Actually it was Ojukwu who declared s stupid war that was doomed to fail from day 1 that is responsible for those deaths. It was a case of not counting ur cost before launching out.
