The director of public relations of the Nigerian
Army, Brigadier Olaleye Lajide, has dismissed
reports in the Nigerian media claiming that the
army could not find academic records of
General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.), the presidential
candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Brigadier Lajide described the reports as false.
The military spokesman made the disclosure while
responding to a text message from SaharaReporters
seeking clarification about the status of Mr. Buhari’s
records. Brigadier Lajide affirmed that the Nigerian
Army is in possession of all records of serving, retired
and deceased officers since its inception. He added,
however, that all military officers are supposed to keep
original copies of their certificates.
According to him, in the event where an officer loses
his or her original copy of records, the concerned
officer must officially apply for copies from the army.
He stated that the army responds to such requests in
an expeditious manner.
Brigadier Lajide told our correspondent that he was a
former director of records at the Nigerian Army
headquarters and had seen records of older and
retired generals. He added that he was in no doubt
that General Buhari’s records were intact.
Brigadier Olaleye insisted that the claim in a major
Nigerian newspaper, that the army could not locate
Mr. Buhari’s record was untrue.

If this report is true, the argument should have been partly resolved. What is left is for someone to raise objections with INEC which will compel Buhari to apply to the Army for copies of his certificates; or the General would release copies to INEC himself. INEC did not demand for original copies nor did Buhari in the affidavit depose that original copies were with the military. I don't think that Buhari, a retired Major General does not posses the required basic qualification of at least an O level or its equivalent. I think we should move to issue based campaign.

Shame to SaTANist, shame to PDP, shame to retrogressives, shame to all that do not wish Buhari/Osinbajo, APC, Nigeria and Nigerians well at large

The army spokesman said the army is in possession of photocopies, not originals which are meant to be with the owner.

So where is GMB's original certificates? If it is lost then he should to swore an affidavit to such and not swearing an affidavit DAT it is with the military board...

Any which way, foul play is evident

SweetJoystick:

Note that the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria demands ACADEMIC QUALIFICATION not MILITARY SERVICE records.

We want Buhari's ACADEMIC records NOT military service records. Period.

Vote Change 2015

In otherwords, "Buhari did not understand due process"- Brigadier Lagide

Semi- illiterate

You are not INEC, like INEC said, it's left for APC to disqualify him or do otherwise
