Lincoln was shot, hope you remember that

while Buhari has questionable academic credentials,
Lincoln was a man of avante garde ideas.
Lincoln was a lawyer.
Lincoln also, did not run for president three times.
His penultimate election campaign was for senator.
He lost, but the issues he stood for made him nationally popular while limiting the support base of his presidential opponent.
