I speak as an ikwerre man.
Look let me tell u. Niger delta republic was d 1st republic to b decleared in nigeria in 1966 feb.23rd..even before the so call biafra if you dnt know.(google isaac boro declearation)

Port harcourt was the capital take note.

Continue buying lands but note: we shall chase u igbos out as we did during the biafran war. If u tink Port harcourt and obio/apkor local govt is the only ikwerre local govt den ur reali a fool. be ready to face both ph local govt obio/apkor,emouha and ikwerre local govt wich i knw u igbos cn neva eva do in ur life.

If u tink d ikwerre are alone den u lie.

The ogonis, epkeye, ogbas, etches all parts of rivers are with us.

Keep on buying lands, we the ikwerres are laughing at u because u pple are nt wise. We are nt fools. Wen d tym comes we shall chase u nd collect our lands bak, as we did b4.

The igbos are nt wise bt greedy, selfish and big fools.

Are you even aware that the so-called Rivers state you so cling onto strongly as your identity is nothing but an artificial entity which can be undone anytime? Are you aware that the moment Rivers state ceases to exist and its areas reassigned to other states or broken up further into states, the so-called ties you mentioned as having with Ogbas/Ekpeyes/Etches will cease to exist and new state identities and loyalties will be formed? Or you've failed to realize that the so-called Rivers state identity you cling on to is only as temporal as long as the state exists?

Nothing against the igbo, but op let me reason u, 1st u say igbo are not easterners, do u know why the whites are called westerners? And asians are called easterners? Can u read a map?
2. U said igbos are the southerners and then again the westerners, so what is the yoruba? lol, yorubas are westerners or s/westerners, in the south south igbo is the minority, i joke u not, igbo are southeasterners, there are more yoruba in south south than igbo and also in the middle belt, ever been to kwara, kogi, or niger? Some languages in benue are very similar to yoruba, especially idoma and igede, if u mean igbos are the largest tribe in nigeria, why not say everyone in southern nigeria is igbo? And am sure thats what u are driving at. Peace.
P.s when the aluu 4 were lynched, i said the ikwerre was ibo cos i know they could be found in the east and cos of their names, an igbo guy here on NL told me to shut the Bleep up, that ikwerres are ikwerres and not ibo, so why are they ibo suddenly now?

Idoma and Igede are classified as Idomoid and sounds very different from what you have just claimed. Listen to the Igede language here:

mr man go read history, asaba is even own by edo people, they were the first people to reside in asaba and the original name is aisaba meaning 'we cant' due to they were not able to cross river niger. ok if you claim its igbo land what's the meaning of asaba in igbo?
Asaba is as autheentically Igbo as it can get. The town is natively called 'Ahaba m' which means 'I have chosen'.

THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ISAAC ADAKABORO AND OJUKWU

Isaac adakaboro was captured after 3 days of declaring Niger Delta Republic

Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu was over powered after 3 YEARS of declaring Biafra
NOTE: with the help of Britain,France,Iraq. Etc

What baffles me is that this Idiots don't even know that it a was a Beyelsan (Ijaw) man that brought the name "Biafra" Frank Opugo by name.
Anyway I no get una time jare

As a bantu, am fascinated by Igbos who I believe are close relatives of our huge population. Now after readingthis informative article, I can draw even more similarities. For example, their love for peacefull existence(This is true upon the observation of the map of Africa, where wars and conflicts gradually reduce as one moves South and into greater concetration of Bantu communities), the physical features and the unique way of relating with strangers and accomodating even whole non-bantu communities that on several instances, took advantage of it to subdue them as with the Hutu/Tutsi Kingdom. Its however disappointing to discover that Igbos know very little about Bantu origins and their migration from the West of Africa.

Very interesting relationship. Maybe this is the missing link for Igbo origin. I was looking at the facial features of Bantus on the Internet and there are strucking resemblance with Igbos. I am Igbo, so I know.

When we say that Enugu belongs to Ndiigbo, we mean to say that Enugu belongs to Igbos of Enugu origin( the Amechi, Nike and Ugwuaji people) and because these people are Igbos, the rest of Igbo nation can take pride in Enugu.

When Ndiigbo say that PH belongs to Ndiigbo, we mean to say that Ph belongs to Igbos of PH origin, who in this case are Ikwerres, and through them, the rest of Igbo nation can take pride in PH.

Why some people fail to understand this simple concept is still surprising to me.

No Igbo man would give up his hometown to claim anothers hometown, no Igboman would want to be buried any other place other than his hometown, no matter how remote his hometown might be.

I am an Igbo man. We really do not worry about Ikwerre as a people. The migrated from Benin. What we are saying is that the land Ikwerres are staying now is an Igbo territory and we are claiming it back. Not by force but by strategic buying. Buy the time we finish buying we shall send you back to Benin where you belong ok. Their will be total annihilation of your people this 2015 that the whole Nigeria will split.

Nice post....but dat still won't make me like dem
Igbo people are so so desperate for money..80% is ritual,15% prostitution and making fake things just 5% is clean money from hardwork

And they have some stupid cultures dat should not be heard of..maybe because most of them are not literate...they nearly killed my sis when she got married to an igbo guy..

They got married 2007 but the guy didn't take her home even after 4 kids,my sis should av suspected that there must be something wrong with his family..but she was thinking maybe he is "akudaya"..so she pestered him to take her home..when they got to the place she was welcomed grandly..they had a great feast for her and her kids..then they gave her money to go and buy something from the market, when she got there she started pricing things she wanted to buy..as an ijebu woman she can price ehn,she got to a place and just spoke her language she said (urun ma won bewe)things are costly here oo ..dat was when an ijebu lady dat came to sell things there asked her what she was doing there dat there is a mark on her and the mark is given to any lady they want 2 kill. she explained everything to her and the lady helped her escape...she got a divorce when the guy came back with just 2kids

Then he explained everything to her,dat it is their culture(can u imagine what kind of stupid culture is dat)..dats y he didn't want 2 take her home

Av never heard a good story about igbos, only bad and scary ones,

Igbos ehn I dislike them like shit,I hardly make friends with them, they scare me..they can do anything 4 money

You sounded so silly am myopic..after all the ranting you still cud not proof through your write-up,how your sister's husband realy planned to kill her
You said, she went to market an saw a fellow Ijebu woman, who told her she will be killed because of her tribal mark,an your sister belifed wat nonsense..wat a " chicken brain she has
You don't categorized a whole tribe by taking a swipe at them the manner you just did,it only shows how childish you must be...my Aunty who was a medical doctor an a bread-winner in my family was murdered by her Yoruba husband in cold blood..but that still does not affect the way I feel about my yoruba folks till today,my best friend both male an female are Yoruba.
You don't use an individuals action to judge a whole nation...go an learn how to talk..gudluck..cheers!

i really dont give two phucks as to d opinion of anybody. My post is actually intended for the Igbos who want to cozy up to the ikwerre when there's notin remotely fantastic abt dem. Maybe I went too far, maybe not.

Let them go their separate way if they wish. You cant force anyone to chose his identity.

I admit there are always exception to every rule. So NOT ALL ikwerre are like i said they are. I have relatives married to ikwerre. Infact my favorite in-law is an ikwerre man.

So any ikwerre who wishes to identify as Igbo is gladly welcomed to the fold.

MAYBE YOU WROTE QUITE WELL, BUT Y0UR PRESUMPTION THAT PART OF AKWA IBOM STATE IS MADE UP OF THE IGBOS IS INACCURATE. DO YOUR RESEARCH PROPERLY BEFORE YOU THROW IT INTO THE WORLD, DON'T CROSS BOUNDARIES WRONGLY.

There is every possibility to that..you just have to broaden your mindset..first of,we had one south eastern states before Gowon decided to split the states,so at that point how do you realy determine the true boundaries, knowing the exercise was purely politically motivated?
Secondly, akwa ibo still shares boarder with with Abia state till date,so there will always be an over-lap on both sides.

Igbo people are true Nigerians like any other nation(or Tribes) in our great country. It's time to quite all xenophobia and Negative stereotypes perpetrated against Them. I acknowledge they contribute alot to this country culturally ,economically and in all other aspect so we should all appreciate that. & yep, As a Yoruba man, i won't mind seeing an Igbo person(male/female) in Aso rock in the nearest future. Its time for Nigerians to grow up and understand we're all in this together.

Me, l am Yoruba! Go phuck yourself if you dont dig that wink

I have a lot of friends who are Igbo. Wonderful lads that l love to be with.
I have also come across Igbos that are greedy, desperate and loathsome.

Does that make my Igbos friends like them? NO!

The point is, no one can generalize or stereotype based on a personal experience.

Treat each individual based on how they present themselves and how they act further-on, to justify that presentation.
There are BAD PEOPLE in every Nation .... just like there are GOOD PEOPLE.

Anything else apart from the above is based on IGNORANCE!

Lastpage!

BTW: I know you might think "Nations" have "Peculiarities" .... TRUE ....but it is still a "generalization" because such "peculiarity does not and cannot account for everyone in the Group"!

@Chiwude: Do you still have access to that Website? I have a lot of articles written there back then and would like to link them, if possible.
Give me a shout please.

yes, but actually am a linguistic student, there are language groups and then lang families, if igede and idoma are idomoid and closer to igbo language, what if i now tell you that igbo language and yoruba language belong to the same family - KWA language family. Even tho laymen cant clearly see the similarities btw them

its because u speak igbo and i speak yoruba. there is a town in ekiti named igede which the igede in benue thinks they av a bond with, igala people has yoruba words used in their language, the way an idoma speaks a naive white man myt take him for yoruba than igbo, now both yoruba and igbo belongs to the kwa family, linguistics believe they could have evolved from just one old defunct mother language, am a linguist. There are lang groups and language families, under a family you will have many groups, idomoid is a group, kwa is the family.
