"Okigbo urged the government to equip G.U.O. and other companies with fire-fighting equipment."
Why would the govt equip a private business of that capacity knowing fully well that a business of such magnitude would be belted to a comprehensive insurance policy.
The govt hasn't remove the plank in its oown eyes how much more a privately owned transport company. grin

Wow!!! GUOhuh! I pray it doesn't affect their services to their customers/passengers plying the Eastern axis.

GUO has one of the best customer services. They are also safety conscious. So why could this have happened?

Too bad. I hope the buses and goods were insured.

Investments lost within a twinkle of an eye. I pray I never share out of fire disaster in my life.
This is the problem with Nigeria, did the owner of these properties pray for this? When you have such a business, you insure your assets instead we will rather be greedy and hope for the best always.

The inferno was a heavy loss to GUO. Thank God no loss of life was mentioned. However, I think the company is big enough to possess its on fire fighting truck so the company spokes person should not say they re waiting on the government to provide them with that. The billions lost was enough to provide fire fighting equipment for them.

I wish them multiple growth.

Certainly, the cars are insured. It's sad though but the insurance company is there to indemnify the company

Imagine? That govt should equip G.U.O with fire fighting equipments. When do we also take up responsibilities. Are we not demanding too much from this govt? GUO wit all the cash they are making should have set up their small fire fighting unit. You make d money and u expect govt to ............mm Any way, I sympathize wit ur loss.

I don't mean to offend, but I think your joke is inappropriate at this instance.
I don't know the owner but as a fellow human with decency in our blood, we should not laugh at other people's misfortune.
Whatever we might say about him, but the fact that he is a fellow nigerian who chose to invest in his own country and thus provide jobs for fellow citizens , we should sympathize with him.

May God console him and replenish his resources.

it's God's intervention, it could be that those buses will claim people lives if put on the road this year.

He said although they tried to stop the fire, they were handicapped by lack of equipment.

Okigbo urged the government to equip G.U.O. and other companies with fire-fighting equipment.
Yeah, this man can go f**k off into space. Why should Government use taxpayers money to fix fire fighting equipment in a private enterprise?

I'm sure they have vehicle insurance. They should file a police report and make a claim from the insurance company. It's the legal thing to do. Unless, he did not insure those vehicles against disasters such as this.

As much as I sympathize with GUO on their losses, I find it funny the spokes person suggesting the government to assist transporters with fire-fighting equipment sad

How can you invest millions in vehicles for transportation business, have a fuel dump locally and yet ignored investing in fire-fighting equipment? undecided waiting for government's dysfunctional service?

A company of that size should have robust fire fighting equipment.

This is basic health, safety and environment.

The problem is if you propose this to the typical Igbo businessman, he'll tell you that you are "blowing grammar".
It happened on a sunday night as against monday dt was reported . The fire went out of hand cos ppl were not at work.
Those luxurious buses are new buses he bought just last year. I pray God will give him the heart to bear the loss.
