I still don't see your idea of a new AM as the way forward. If we're to replace Oscar with someone in the team, it has to be a DM. This wouldn't only see Cesc move into the hole permanently, we would also get to maintain a good shape in midfield.

Defensively, Cesc isn't helping issues. His deep-playmaking role doesn't contribute anything to our defending. Hence we need someone who can complement Matic and make us stronger.

The two defeats that we've faced this season have come when Matic was either absent or having an off-day. We tend to put up a despondent defensive display when he's not on top of his game (Everton and Spurs' games comes to mind).

So we need an effective contingency plan in case Matic is not having the impact he usually does.

It should be either Strootman or Khedira. Both are available and should come cheap.
