Our dog back home was named "Osama" because of his extremely agressive nature and he's always loyal to his cause "guarding the compound against strangers". Even my dad and any unknown person living with us is an enemy.

While i named my cute dog right here Elmo. That was the first name that popped to my head when i was finding names that didn't sound like i was trying to pay an ex-boyfriend back. Now i'm wishing i had chosen a different name. Elmo has been modified to different annoying pronuciations. From 'Dembo', to 'Omo', 'Emo', 'Embo', 'Eno'. I got tired of correcting people that i let them call him whatever they want.

I called him the black one and it sticked. Mom got pissed but who cares. He was black wasn't he?.

Anyway, ma twin shared my idea. Fück knows if ma baby sis had an alternative opinion. But nothing was special.

I name my pets not until like 12weeks of age, when they must have shown one or more attributes or a particular unique feature.

*I used to have this female pitbull, I named her "savage" becos she used to act without remorse.

*I once had a boerboel pup which I named "loner" cos he came into life unaccompanied, meaning "na only him waka come". When I was expecting my dam to give me like 9pups as usual, na only "loner" I see. Mehn, I be wan cry that year.

*I had this dobbermann too which I named "monalisa" cos she had all the attributes of a high class societal lady, she's got bodice, carriage, character, etiquettes, confidence, she sure knows how to get all studs drooling. She used to be hotcake amongst her peers.

*I had this boerboel pup which I named "spike". I came up with this name because I concluded he has spikes attached to his paws like those mountain climbers. I woke up one morning and found this pup on the ironing board and I still cant understand how he got up there till today. Also on another occasion when I was all dressed up for work, I had polished my shoes some hours before and left it outside. I got outside only to find one shoe missing, after thorough search, I saw the shoe on my car, thoroughly mutilated. When I raised an alarm, all the dogs showed no expression except for spike who was peeping at me from a corner with his tails tugged between his legs. He started all these at 12weeks.

*Had this bulldog pup too that I named "dreamy" cos he was always sleeping. Dreamy would sleep for the better part of the day. He would wake up for just one thing, to eat!!! Dreamy would fall asleep even on a meal. I would get back to find Dreamy asleep with inside his food bowl. Dreamy would even fall asleep when u bath him...

*Had this Caucasian pup too that I named "Disney". She's a baboon-faced Caucasian pup and had a teddy bear's look. I remember a time when a friend came visiting and saw Disney lying in the living room. She actually thought Disney was a teddy bear and had carried and almost hugged Disney before she noticed it was a dog she carried. Meanwhile, this my friend used to be hater of dogs. I f you see the kind of force with which she ran that day ehn!!!

I can go on and on with this dogs story, i'll just stop here...In summary, circumstances propel me into naming my canines...

Try a local name. Dad gave our dogs ' Tantolorun' and 'iwalesin' That sounds cooler to me than English names...

My first dog, a GSD was named Walker gotten from the middle name of GW Bush, no extra meaning I just love the name walker. When she died of Parvovirus, I got two other GSD (Male and female). I named the male Skipper( Skip for short) because he is big and looks like a Cappo, I named the female Flyer (Fly for short) because she is of lighter-weight and she could jump.

well...i named my female boerboel MEREDITH GREY..(GREY for short)...this was because i was really obsessed with the seasonal movie, GREYS ANATOMY at that time and when we got her, she was all grey but she grew up to be black tho....and like MEREDITH GREY in the movie...my dog is really cool...she sticks by us...very obedient...can be mean to strangers buh always ready to please, she thinks she the "daddys girl"..lol

my other dog was named BOZZO...you can imagine how stubborn he is right now...

Usually on tuesdays by 6pm

I named my female terrier Shirley, because I actually love the name ( and I love the dog too). I named the male Rio, after the W.W.E wrestler Alberto del RIO..

What do you guys think about my 7 wks Boerbull? ? Her name is rubby....Rubby just came to my mind...My daughter was calling her doggy so to be easy for her I changed it to Rubby....We are all fine with it..
