Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation has called on the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari, to call his supporters to order and ensure a violence-free election.

Director of Media and Publicity of the organisation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, made the call in a statement issued on Sunday in Abuja against the backdrop of the violence, arson and destruction unleashed on President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign buses at Zololo Junction along Bauchi road in Jos North North Local Government Area of Plateau State on Saturday.

Fani-Kayode warned General Buhari and the APC not to prepare the ground for the re-enactment of the post-election violence of 2011.

According to him, “It is on record that General Buhari’s utterances since 2011 have fuelled violence especially the post-election violence in parts of the north which claimed the lives of many youth corps members who were deployed as ad-hoc staff members for that year’s election.  It is sad that up till now General Buhari has refused to apologize to the Nigerian people for that barbaric and shamefulincident or show any remorse for the actions of his supporters. He could not even bring himself to tender an apology to the families of those young corps members that were hacked to death and murdered in cold blood by his agents.

“As if that was not enough tragedy unleashed on the polity, General Buhari recently said that the 'baboon and the dog would be soaked in blood if what happened in 2011 repeat itself in 2015."

At least Buhari has stated explicitly and publicly that he rebukes election violence and supporters that resorts to it. That is what a good leader does.

Has GEJ even mentioned a thing about the APC supporters that were attacked in rivers? Even if they were opposition party members, aren't they Nigerians over which he presides??


I'm not very surprised though, this is what you get when you have a president that sends condolence to France where 8 of its citizens where killed, yet kept mute when a whooping 2000 of his citizens were killed.

Always chest-beating and ranting all over the place. Even shikini strength una no get o......If the violence erupts now,you'll be the first to leave the country...

FFK is a wrong choice as a link between PDP campaign team and the public. Four incidence of political violence were reported in the last 48-72hrs. Three of them were traced to either PDP members fighting one another or destroying APC property. Which is not a surprise if one consider a lot of rancor and acrimony generated by PDP primary elections across the country.
Swiftly and correctly, GMB has condemned the attacks not minding which party involved. That is expected exhibition of character by a good leader of people.
FFK has to do the needful by calling on his paymaster too to call his boys to order in the sprit of equity and fairness.

I see PDP is bent on dividing this country. I see they intend to go through this election not caring who dies. How does this statement from the "president" not incite violence. The only thing this statement will achieve is the president's supporters feeling the need to retaliate.

I don't know how people can't see through this highly irresponsible and dangerous act. We behave in this country like there are not proper ways of doing things anymore. These guys that caused the violence, have they been arrested and questioned? There are rumors out there that it's intra party fighting so why are they so quick to just condemn the opposition.

What you expect from a responsible government is to come together with the opposition and condemn it. A lot of folks here don't know what good governance is which is a pity because this is just the height of irresponsibility.

For all those resorting to violence because of these "big men" I'm sorry for you. FFK is doing his job, we know he's double mouthed depending on who's feeding him. These guys have plans to secure, that is the ones that haven't already, their family I know this first-hand and I'm sure everyone too has an idea this is happening. All their kids are gone, either in the UK or US chilling and for the ones that any embassy is wasting time, Dubai is a very quick option. I, myself a "small man" have bought tickets for my wife and kid equipped with their very acceptable passports just incase anything starts jumping off.

Finally the "presidency" hasn't addressed the nation about the horrible act that happened last week but has rushed out to address buses being burnt. These buses I guess hold more value to the presidency than all the people that were murdered.

This is what you get when someone who was careless with the shoes his parents bought for him is made the president.

So PDP keeps saying Buhari is behind the 2011 violence and he has not be arrested? It is funny how the same idiots that the shoeless one and the shoeless one himself surrounds himself with has kept mute so far about the attack in Rivers.

Engage in issue based campaign, PDP refused, now they complain of the off shot of what they started.
