A Leader of the All Progressives Congress in Ward 17, Rumuorlumeni, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, who was attacked by unknown persons on Sunday, Mr. Kingsley Emenike, has been arrested by the police. Emenike was arrested on Monday alongside one Chukwu Ogbonda, a member of the APC, on their hospital beds at Ebony Hospital in Rumuola, Obio/ Akpor Local Government Area and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department. A former local government Chairman of Obio/ Akpor Local Government Area, Mr. Chikordi Dike, told our correspondent in a telephone interview on Tuesday that the drips on Emenike and Ogbonda’s hands were removed before they were taking away. Emenike was inflicted with machete cut injuries when he and some members of the APC in Obio/ Akpor were attacked by some unknown cutlass- wielding youths. Details later. . .
