We can all predict where Nigeria is heading and it won't be long before it becomes two states like Sudan (Sudan and South Sudan). Therefore, Nigerians and Africans in general should start preparing themselves for two Nigerian states.

However, I propose rather than having two state formations, it makes more sense to unite the Hausa dominated North with their family across the border in Niger. There we can create the United Republic of Niger, where much of the Hausa and Fula people can have common home. Likewise they can later seek to unite the rest of the Fulanis and Hausa under neo-functionalism union similar to the EU where they share common currency, military, trade, integrated infrastructure, cultural contact and open border policy (free movement of people and goods between United Republic of Niger, Benin, Chad, Guinea, Senegal, Mali, Sudan (Darfur etc), Gambia, Togo, Mauritania, Cameroon, Burkina Faso, etc.

I feel the first step is finding a solution for Nigeria. The split solution is necessary. Correcting colonial errors are must.

The Hausa and Fula people need to see the bigger picture. They should divorce others and instead seek joining forces with their own only separated by colonial policies a century ago. It is never too late.

The split is a win-win.

We cannot deny the fact that the people from the northern part of Nigeria has similar culture, religious and social life as those from Niger.
In fact, the artificial border of northern Nigeria is just that - artificial. When you take a second look at that map above, you will realize why they feel they should be the lord of this contraption called Nigeria...because the southern part looks minor - more like an appendage to the total sum of this geopolitical entity.

I wish you could contribute to the topic and overall agenda rather than allow your emotions to get the best of you. Calling someone 'kid' will not make you any more intelligent.

Please reassess your comment and position and try again.

There is a nation very close to becoming a failed state like many other African states. It's too big of a risk just to pray and hope things will come to an end because they won't be.

The reality is Nigeria needs a solution right now and a split is a very likely reality.
