I do not necessarily agree with you @OP, one main reason why many are in debt is planning and spending within your means.. When you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

The assumption is TOTALLY WRONG That "debt is bad or undesirable.

Yes it is silly to owe maybe 10000 -100000 which you struggle to pay but get hassle and insults.

What is OK in my book is when you can persuade anyone to lend you 100 million naira or more even better when such debt is NOT SECURED against anything now that is the kind of debt you want to have. When you owe 100k you have a problem when you owe 100 million your creditor has a problem

*make savings/investment one of your major priority.
*Incur debt that would profit you only.
*avoid irrelevant buying. Have priorities, most luxury goods are not always 'needs' but 'wants'
