My brother, no one will ever dictate for you.
Its absolutely out of point to say desire a language made for beginers. Who said you are a beginer? Just search for all or best programming languages and their strenght and weaknesses and choose the one that best suit you.
But if you wish to remain a beginner here are some languages made even which non programmers are entitled to.
Microsoft basic languages like Quick Basic, Small Basic and so on.
But my brother, no this day beginners programmers ever start with those programms again.
Please think wide and erase the fear.
Thank you.

If you would love to go into mobile gaming app industry, start with objective C, swift (iOS), then add Unity 3D and/or corona SDK. I also did computer science and then switched into mobile development late last year after seeing Flappy bird and 2048 making it big time, so I had to study well.

I have some games now out on Google Play and Itunes but I can't post the links here due to the rules. Note that I am only sharing this with you so you decide exactly where you want to go as programming is now vast and you have to specialize in one area.

No need to drop numbers bro. Like someone posted above, the best way is to start with Python. Reason is that you can understand how everything works without a tutor(that's if you are smart).. After learning python and building a few apps(desktop, gaming or web based), you can migrate to other languages..

All in all, it all depends on which area of programming you want to delve into.. Python is a multi-purpose language that's why i suggest it..
Cheers..

Bro, just start with C++. I recommend this because you are a CS student. C++ is an intermedate language (between low-level and high-level); If you want to get a deep picture of how your hardware behaves, then C++/C will be the way (for a beginner), but if you just want to build fancy apps, then you can start with this other fancy languages around. But a programmer knows many dialect (languages); so you can always pick any, when you want.

It depends on you but I'll suggest you learn C if you want to get your hands dirty. I added a few modules to my kernel n its fun and there's still more you can do with it.

It depends on what you intend to achieve or build. I played a little with C then PHP but never liked it. Now am settled with Ruby.

Bro, Ruby is dying language, it's almost like Fotran, switch to python or use bash if you really like scripting languages that much. Else Java everything else.

Begin with C, C is the father of virtually every languages, you then try c++ or python, then java, end with c#

I started with php, but I finally am stuck with c/c++ and C# and it's been fun since then

You sure? Ruby is slower than python, more complecated than it, can not make big programmes of meaningfull use, so.. undecided

Since your studying computer science you will surely do C/C++ but first you need to get the fundamentals, a solid foundation. I highly recommend this book for those new to programming and want to get serious with it,
http://www.introprogramming.info/english-intro-csharp-book/
It will open your mind and you'll be able to flow with several languages in short time.

i recommend c#

why?

c# is useful for developing almost all types of applications for different platforms:
1. web development with asp.net
2. creating desktop apps
3. creating windows 8 apps
4. creating android apps and even apps that run on mac (using mono)

the only other language that offers this sort of cross platform ability is java (as far as i know though)
but i think c# is better because with c# you can create more beautiful interfaces easily. with java you can do same but it's just harder most times...with c# you can put in half the effort and still get a better looking interface.

the trend in technology now involves the use of neat and attractive user interfaces so even if your program is the best...it won't be marketable if it's not attractive to the average user. except if you want to make only programs that other programmers will use then you should keep user interfaces in mind and keep that as a priority too.

I recommend learning JavaScript. It is fast becoming ubiquitous.
With Javascript, you can build web apps, mobile apps and REST APIs as a backend using node.js. While there is a proliferation of frameworks and libraries, I recommend starting with JavaScript first and when you get a good grasp of the language you can then learn the libraries and frameworks. Some key ones to learn are
1. jQuery
2. Angular
3. Node
4. Backbone

Another advantage with learning Javascript is that you don't have to install anything really. With just notepad and chrome or firefox (with firebug) browser, you are good to go. I will suggest getting a good text editor like Sublime Text or Notepad++ though for syntax highlighting.

Some online resources to help you get started

http://eloquentjavascript.net/

I wish you all the best in your learning.

It all boils down to what you want @op.
First.
To build your algorithm technique, grab a book on algorithm(the basics).
Second.
Since its CSC, you'll need the fundermentals.Grab a book on ASM (you don't have to read every chapter, just the basics).you can read wide if you want.
Next.
Grab a book on C/C++(it complements the knowledge you get from the book on algorithm).
NEXT.
After which you can pick up any other language related to what you want to achieve.
One more thing, to make your life easier, Install a Linux distro alongside your windows meaning you'll have to learn the Bourn Again SHell (BASH).At this point (coupled with your CSC lectures) you can do wonders.
funny enough I'm not following this footstep, it's just to inhumane for me.Maybe you'll like it.

It depends on your school. Some schools are Java based, others are C++ based. If you are a comp sci student, I'll start of with either or and find online tutorials. I have a Java tutorial going, see if you like it thanks
