Unfortunately,the driver is not at fault here;he killed himself. People in Nigeria are so daft to the extent of leaving a pedestrian bridge and would rather cross the highway. I'm sure other people will still do same even after they saw a vehicle has knocked someone down.

I saw the people gathered around the deceased at Ojota this morning. It's a pity he committed suicide. Yes, it is suicidal to cross the highway where govt had made provision for a pedestrian bridge.

Even while the victim lay dead on the median, I could count about 10 'sick' Nigerians who had the presence of mind to cross the highway right at the scene of the accident.

Now, the family may be required by the state to pay a fine before the corpse would be released to them ( I stand to be corrected here)
Please my fellow Nigerians, always use the pedestrian bridge. You asked for it and now you got it...use it to your advantage.

What will the police do?

Copy the plate number of the hit and run motor?
Arrest all the intruders at the scene?
Carry the deceased to the mortuary?
Search the pockets for valuable and dislodge them
Contact the family of the deceased

Exactly what I wanted to post,the suspected driver is not guity by law even if he was caught .rip. To d decease.

A Man was also Killed at ojota by hit and run driver or is it the same incident? because I was there when this one happened.

Pls do o, most of the death around that Ojota is caused by over speeding drivers, which I am one of. Am always in a hurry to beat traffic congestion and not to get robbed in the early hours of the day.

It is always better to use the pedestrian bridge, you cant be too careful.
Take for instance, a car is behind another at the time you look and decide to make a run for it, and then the driver of the car behind decides to overtake at that same time, what do you think would happen? He wouldn't see you because of the car in front of him and you couldn't have known he/she was going to overtake at the time you decided to cross.
