I recently opened a coporate account with GTB and I was told I must have GTB corporates account holders as references, which I did. Unfortunately, the references were inactive and I urged them to activate the accounts. Getting to bank to transact with the account, I was told to wait for 3 Months to use the account unless I get another references.
I got other references of other banks, but the account officer made me understand it could take like forever. And I can't even say I don't want to bank anymore which means my money can't be taken out of the account, and won't be able to service my clients til like forever.


I even said I don't want to bank with them anymore, let them give me my money and go but they refused. Please, what can I do?

referees are very important in opening current/corporate accounts. you just need to give it to them and move on. and for a faster confirmation the referees must be a GTBANKcurrent account holder.

So, what happens if I don't want to continue to bank with them and I want my money back, do I still need references for that?

you can be able to withdraw the money YOU deposited but if any other money enters there it won't be possible

Apply for Counter-withdrawal.
This method of withdrawal is ONLY for accounts that have challenges and ONLY applies to monies that are ONLY deposited by the account holder/owner.
