Unibenstudent:What you need is not really a religious teacher. What you need is a mentor (people and places) to inspire in you a hunger for the basics of discipleship. The word, prayer, fasting and obedience. These are the basics or fundamentals of discipleship. Lukewarmness begins when these things start getting boring. When you no longer feel the need to draw closer to God through these basics. Ask God intentionally in prayer to ignite in your heart the fire of fervency again. And to order your steps to people and places that will feed you with motivation to want to know Him more. Intimacy is intentional and devotion is deliberate. You have to ask to receive. You need to ask and keep asking. He will answer. |
