I was at home yes but okorocha did not start out rehabilitating old structures before building new ones..the opposite was the case as is govt colledge owerri where he built a new structure but old dilapidated ones are still there which makes no sense..i expected him to rehabilitate old structures of both primary and secondary(like I see him doing in ikenegbu girls and holyghost colledges which I saw) instead of just putting those his new buildings alongside dilapidated structures that are abound.

What you wrote is right and many of those old structures will be knocked off and rebuilt in due time. The work on secondary schools started in late 2014 and has been very fast while the 305 primary schools started in 2012. I do not have the target number of secondary schools to be rebuilt but I have seen like 4 completed ones around Owerri.

I hope that is what he does or plans to do ie knocking down old structures to be replaced by new ones because I actually hated the former scenario..those holy ghost and ikenegbu girls rehabilitation I saw was exactly what I expected him to do earlier and to be honest I saw the reconstruction work I saw

I think its the primary schools that the old structures are left untouched. Some mischievous people snap pictures of the old buildings and post online. I think they need to be demolished once and for all.

Rochas has exceeded all expectations in his first tenure. I hope he does better as we Imolites supports him for Governorship come february. However, as for presidency I think GEJ will sweep the SE including Imo state.

With all due respect you must have really low expectations.

He has done well in some sectors though.

Onwuliri tasks ministries,
parastatals to showcase FG’s projects in Imo
ARTICLE | JANUARY 22, 2015 - 2:57PM
by Val Okara
The Minister of State for
Education, Prof. Viola Onwuliri,
Wednesday challenged Heads of
Federal Government (FG)
Ministries and Parastatals in
Imo State to showcase the
projects carried out by President
Goodluck Jonathan’s
administration in the State.
Onwuliri who gave the advice at the meeting she held with Association of Heads of Federal Government
Ministries and Parastatals at the Federal Secretariat, Owerri, observed that most of the projects executed
by the Federal Government in the State were not properly showcased and identified.
She therefore urged them to ensure they lived up to their responsibility in letting the people of the State
to see and know the laudable Federal Government projects.
The Minister observed that lack of publicity of these projects created loophole which the state government
cashed in on to hijack some projects as well as present the FG as having done nothing for the people of
the state.
She identified some of the projects done by the FG in the state to include the new ICT Centre and new
Faculty of Law Building in Imo State University, Owerri and the Administrative Building and Laboratory
built by FG at Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo.
Other projects she cited include the School of Environmental Technology, Department of Dental
Technology and Engineering Department, all in FUTO; the Twin Story Classroom Building sponsored by
the Federal Ministry of Education through UBEC in the 305 wards in the state,
the Architecture
Department, the Auditorium and Rectors office all built at the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, some classroom
blocks at the Federal College of Education Owerri as well as the New Amenity, House Officers Quarters
and new Mortuary Complex at the Federal Medical Center, Owerri.
The minister listed some of the projects under construction to include Vocational Skills Acquisition Centre
at Mgbee, Orlu , the Multi-billion naira Grain Silos (an Agro Storage Facility ) at Ezinachi Okigwe.
