A constitutional lawyer, Tunji Abayomi, on Wednesday in Abuja said that Muhammadu Buhari, the All Progressives Party, APC, presidential candidate, had fulfilled the constitutional requirements to contest for the office of President. Mr. Abayomi, who stated this in an interview said the logic of Section 131(d) of the Nigerian 1999 Constitution focused not on certificates but on educational level. Mr. Abayomi further argued that it was constitutionally “trivial and definitely unwarranted” for anybody to insist that Mr. Buhari must produce his certificates. He contended that the argument by some lawyers that Mr. Buhari must produce his School Certificate was based on ignorance of the provisions of the 1999 constitution. “The 1999 constitution as amended is superior to the provisions of the 2010 Electoral Act as amended. “In my considered view and having regard to the unambiguous words of the constitution, it did not even say that to qualify for election to the office of president you have to go to school,’’ he said. Section 131 of Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution says that a person shall be qualified for election to the office of the President: If (a) he/she is a citizen of Nigeria by birth; (b) he has attained the age of forty years; (c) he is a member of a political party and is sponsored by that political party; (d) and must have also been educated up to at least School Certificate level or its equivalent. Abayomi said that it was, therefore, left for INEC to send its officials to the institutions that Mr. Buhari indicated in his affidavit that he attended to verify the said certificates. PDP/GEJ bootlickers,a lawyer have spoken. Are you guys still running a high temperature over Buhari's certificate? There are by a mile far more critical issues and questions that need's to be discuss. 1)The chibok girls, have they been found? 2)Is Abba Morro still a"free walking minister",despite the immigration job scam, where graduates were made to 1000 and end up dying for nothing? 3)The 20 million dollar oil money that suddenly disappeared, has it been found? If no,who is responsible for its disappearance? 4)Is Alison still a minister?Despite buying an amoured car for over 250 million dollars? 5)Has GEJ arrested those who he claimed wanted to assassinate him? 6)What's up with subsidy? These and more are far more critical things to talk about,as it affect our different lives one way or the other, not some meaningless certificate that holds no water. |

The minute you read something that you can't believe, you can almost be sure that it was drawn up by a lawyer. |

The Buhari result is fraud! look at the disjointed lines, the Oluwole man that did this imposition job is not well skilled. The result sheet itself was only signed and stamped by the principal this year, does it mean that the school did not sign or stamp this schedule of results since 1961??

EUROBOMBER:You are on every post seeking attention. Please let me educate you quickly so that you can keep quiet. The current principal has the right to sign it and no one else. If you go to your secondary school for statement of result do you expect the statement to be prepared signed and kept since you graduated? NO! NO!! NO!!! It is only when requested that it will be prepared, duly signed and stamp by the current principal since your record is available. So focus on how to improve our economy, security and corruption. thanks |

jfking2005:I am not referring to the statement of result, I am talking about the schedule of results attached here. See also that the names were imposed and the lines disjointed.
