Beyond what she says,
You can see the expression on her face,
She says its ok, but you know she's not,
She's been hurt beyond measure,
But she's scared to speak,

The bitterness in her soul still, she does the chores,
Hiding a million tears as she whistles the music,
A million things running through her mind as she scrubs,
Stealing glances at you, hoping you'd talk to her soul

By the corner, you sit comfortably,
Hissing angrily at her crime,
Its too much to forgive her you say,
For demanding you love her in return,
You feel she doesn't deserve your love,
She is not fair like other girls,
Not even as tall.

Soon she finished her chores,
At the door about leaving she stares, hoping you'd still speak to her soul,
Alas, its an opportunity long waited,
You wouldn't dare stop her, so she left

Now you enjoy the luxury of fair women,
All that glitters is not gold, you realise,
She was the best, though she's not fair,
But you can't reach her now, she's gone,
Because you were enveloped with pride,

There were many things you could have said to her, but you didn't
Now its your turn to wail but she wouldn't know,
if only you knew, you say,
You could have told her, how much she meant,
But she wouldn't know now because she's gone,
All you are left with now is emptiness,
And the vacuum of the gem you lost.

This is a beautiful and interesting poem. Many dudes fail to choose the right one even when she's right there. . . I'm also a victim of that too, I mean: "not choosing the right one." I lost a gem lately, but I hope I'd get to find her.
