Concerned lawyers in the country under the aegis of “Lawyers for Change” Wednesday staged a roadshow in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, to drum up support for the candidature of General Mohammadu Buhari (rtd) and Professor Yemi Osinbajo of the All Peoples Congress (APC) in next month election. The rally took off from the Afe Babalola Bar Center, Iyaganku, in Ibadan to Dugbe en route to Sabo area of Ibadan before returning to the Bar Centre. Representatives of the group took turns to address traders and passers- by while leaflets on the need for residents to vote for change come February 14, 2015, were freely distributed to them. They said Buhari and Osinbajo remained the best combination to salvage the nation from the present predicament.

The Coodinator of the group, Mr. Adesina Ogunlana, said they could not but add their voice to the clamour for change of leadership in Nigeria. Ogunlana stressed that Nigerians were tired of the rise in insecurity and corruption among other challenges confronting the nation, accusing the present Nigerian leadership of fake assurances and unfulfilled promises, adding that as professional lawyers, they were not partisan but only being patriotic.

A former deputy governor in Oyo State, Barrister Iyiola Oladokun, who was part of the roadwalk, emphasised the need for Nigerians to put aside all forms of differences and vote for the presidential candidate of APC next month. He further stated that the duo are tested and trusted personalities with impeccable track records. Traders and passers- by chanted ‘Sai Buhari’ as the lawyers gave them ‘Vote for Change’ leaflets.
