Jonathan Willing To Accept Verdict Of Feb 14 Presidential Poll —FG by Omooba77: 7:45am On Jan 30, 2015
THE Federal Government, on Thursday, reassured Nigerians and the international community that it is prepared to conduct free, fair, credible and transparent elections in February, describing the nationwide anxiety as “unwarranted.”

Government has also said that President Goodluck Jonathan, who is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would be ready to concede defeat if he loses in the February 14 presidential election.

Minister of Interior, Abba Moro, spoke at an interactive session with newsmen in Abuja, on the readiness of the Federal Government to conduct peaceful and violent-free election, which would be acceptable to all Nigerians.

The Federal Government has equally warned those drumming for war should their candidates lose in the forthcoming election, to stop unnecessary threats that were not in the interest of the government or Jonathan.

He was reacting to threat by some ex-leaders of Niger Delta militants, including Tompolo and Muhajid Dokubo-Asari, that there would be war if Jonathan is not re-elected to serve his second term.

He said it was reprehensible for people to threaten the country with violence if their candidates lose in the forthcoming election.

He said: “President Goodluck Jonathan has not left anyone in doubt as to his preparedness to conduct a free, fair, credible and transparent election.

“Mr President has said that in the unlikely event that he loses the election in the course of this exercise, he would be statesman enough and democratic enough to concede defeat.

Meanwhile, Moro insisted that the credibility and integrity of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, General Muhammadu Buhari, was in doubt and the honourable thing for him to do was to quit the race.

He said even if General Buhari contested and won, his victory would be contested in court, because the government would lack legitimacy.

“We are talking about integrity here. We also must be mindful of the legitimacy of the election and government.

“If for any reason, there are some question marks on the certificates presented by individuals presenting themselves for elections, certainly, these are salient issues that must be addressed before the election. We must take proper cognisance of this.”

The minister said in spite of the anxiety that had trailed the electioneering campaigns, Nigerians did not have to worry about provision of adequate security, as it was guaranteed.

Moro urged Nigerians not to panic, saying security agencies have been adequately mobilised to ensure hitch-free exercise.

He, therefore, called on all Nigerians to be law-abiding and understand that “this is our country and while elections will come and go, leaders come and go, this country remains our own.”

If you were in Bauchi in 2011; you will not be shouting like this. Underage children voted, despite that he refused to accept the result; yet he will not apologise to corpers that lost their lives. I will vote for GEJ.

Dont mind him. That is it oh, AlGore accepted Florida result in 2000; just because he wants to maintain the America process of swearing on Luther's day, he could have gone to court. The same Buhari that never attended council of State meetings; it is a big shame on those youth crying Sai Buhari; if only they were grown up in 84/85. At least they have seen what await them; after much noise Fashola conceeded he cannot finish metroline; this road has put so much pressure on Apapa axis. You are being deceived with change; since 2006. God will help our youth to open their eyes. Will Buhari allowed himself to criticise the way we are doing to GEJ; ask Nduka Irabor and co.

Vote Wisely, Egypt and Libya are lessons learnt oh. God bless Nigeria.
