Hi nairalanders, I went to my school yesterday and collected my waec certificate.
But to my suprise, my month of birth was not what I saw there.
I was born on the 02/12/....
But what I saw there was 02/02/.....
.
.
I'm very uncomfortable with it and I have reported to my school. My principal said he will go to waec office and report the matter. But I'm very disturbed. And I don't want to go for age declaration or affidavit
My questions now are
1. Will waec make correction on the certificate or what?
2. How long will it take, if at all it can be rectified?
3. Have you seen anybody that his/her own was corrected?

Go and swear affidavit stating u real DOB ,if u are waiting for WAEC to correct it ,u will wait for almost five years .
I'm speaking from experience .

I doubt if you will ever get it done at WAEC. But the surest way is to walk into any Magistrate of High court and swear affidavit to that effect.
With your birth certificate bearing same date, it is honoured everywhere.

if someone swear affidavit,hope it won't have negative consequence,coz I have a friend that want to change his real date with waec,he want to reduce it.
