This is a guerilla warfare.if you want to fight a war like these,you dont expose your soldiers to the enemy cos when and immediately the dust settles,the enemies mix with the environment(either as civillians,hide outs or even camouflaging as/with an army uniform) and this is where gathering of intelligence on grounds comes to play...like it is said 'if you want to catch a monkey,you behave as a monkey'
The NA lacks military intelligent on ground,that is the main reason they might have unnecessary casuality via ambushing by boko haram and another thing is lack of good aerial surveillance of the battle field region with the adequate equipment and many more(i cant type everything)
like i said before,this a guerilla warefare,to win this war you must have good aerial & ground intelligence.

I can VIVIDLY tell you of Oluwafemi. He was in my Battalion(26BN) Sokoto. One of the best officers ever. His dad came around for his son's benefits and the way this man cried for his son made some of us around to also cry. GOD BLESS YOU 'OGA' OLUWAFEMI.

When we remember those confirmed dead, please let us remember those declared missing in action. This is worse for the family as the little money they have is spent on looking for their family. They travel up and down for information, they spend money on spiritualists of various types. Always hopeful of getting their son and husband back. Do you tell a mother it is hopeless after 3 months a soldier got missing on battlefront? May God be with family if all serving Nigeria on battle fronts

And who told you Imams have not been against them from the word go? We can't count how many Imams have lost their lives to Boko Haram! In fact the first time I heard of them was in a preaching against them in a jumat mosque! They were not violent yet then, just preaching against education. Many Imams have been killed by various methods. Assassination, through targeted bombing, etc.

A native of Ilorin, Kwara State, Oloruntoba was killed in an ambush in Adamawa State in December 2014

I personally know this guy. Very young promising chap who just married not quite long. The wife is pregnant with the first baby. He's Ayorinde Oloruntoba from Kogi state. It was so shocking when I heard of his death. RIP Ayorinde.

I want to plead with officers wives and fiancees to ensure their men are always happy. They stake their lives for d whole nation so they deserve to b happy. Even if they will die, let them die as happy men and their souls will forever bless u. Know your man, know what makes him happy, never make him sad and even God will reward u.

My heart goes to their family and loved ones. This MUST not continue, Nigerians MUST vote a president that knows what to do, a president who has the wealth of experience to deal with the militants. GMB knows what it means, how to adequately equip, empower, support and motivate the military. The Nigerian Army is up to the task but they need adequate support.

Tears stream down my eyes...Lt Colonel Amanze, an infantry officer, was born to a retired ACP and hailed from Uke in Anambra State. He grew up in Onitsha GRA and two of his childhood friends, one a Colonel and the other a US-based engineer (both of them brothers) are really feeling shattered by this sad event. It was one of the brothers who broke the news to me at about 2pm today. Lt Colonel Amanze was not too far away from earning his next promotion, having gained considerable seniority on his present rank.

Such is the human aspect of the tragedy that is this BH insurgency. May his soul rest in perfect peace.

This colonel was so good that his campaigns always ended in victory. those incharge did not like this and was purposely sent on several suicide missions and was almost killed on several occasions. with God on his side, his tactical genius and words of inspiration to his troops always led him to victory. he was sent to a suicide mission and they were caught off guard, out gunned and out numbered. died in his APC before he could issue commands. a great loss!
