lagosians are satisfied with the tinunbu empire so they are not asking question. they have been blinded but the veil of PDP hatred so they are OK with whatever tinunbu /fahola wants for them. no questioning no investigation.

by the way let me take this chance and this space and this opportunity and this time to educate those that are shouting Jonathan is corrupt
what is corruption.
is stealing corruption
can a president fight corruption.
is corruption a crime

corruption is a part of human nature. the tendency not to do the expected. a kind of defiance and an act of being unethical.its totally natural and can be controlled.

is stealing corruption.
well its important to draw the line between crime and corruption. stealing is purely a crime and a graduated form of corruption. corruption is not necessarily punishable but crime is. so if someone steals, let's leave it to the law enforcement agency to do their job.

can a president fight corruption.
everyone in a democratic setting is gilded by law. especially a country like Nigeria that operates a bicameral legislature. so it is left for the constitution to spell out what is punishable or not. if the law state that a director must account for their monthly spending and he refuse or is found to have stolen, you don't need the president to tell EFCC or the police to do their job.
asking a president to fight corruption is like telling him to be a dictator and interfere with the judicial process.then he has the power to accuse anyone and punish. then absolute power will corrupt.

finally how do we fight corruption.
we have seen the Nigerian law makers concern themselves with irrelevant oversight functions where they even ask for bribe in the process. these are supposed law makers that are meant to strengthen the constitution as the only true tool to tackle corruption.
if our laws clearly spells out how the treasury should be managed and it States clear punishments, if the constitution gives every Nigerian the right to question the government on its spendings.if the constitution mandates the governors and chairmen to make public. its monthly spending, then corruption will be fought squarely.

sadly the man that tried to put these things in place and respect the judiciary by organising town Hall meetings and national conference is being accused of leading a corrupt government. not knowing that we are the ones creating a favourable condition for the cultivation of corruption.

instead we are busy asking for some me who will handpick people and punish them at will.forgething that we run a democratic government and must respect the judiciary.
I've found more answers in your wisdom! You're wiser than most people walahi.

Re: Lagos Ranked As The Most Corrupt State In Nigeria In 2014 by HugeMac: 10:39pm On Feb 04, 2015
Before 1999, Tinubu had none of these:
1. Oriental Hotel
2. Falomo Shopping Complex
3. First Nation Airline
4. Lekki Concession Company
5. Apapa Amusement Park
6. Maiyegun Land Project
7. De Nation
8. Renaissance Hotel
9. Tejuoso Market (Joint ownership)
10. Ikeja Shopping Mall
11. TV Continental
12. Converted Lagos Poly land for TVC
13. Owned NNPC Office building in Lagos
14. Radio Continental
15. Owned School of Nursing building in Lagos
16. Tax Collector of Lagos State (Alpha Beta)
17. Wife is a member of the National Assembly
18. Son-in-law is a member of the National
Assembly
19. Daughter is the President-General of Market
Women Association in Lagos
20. N4 billion government financed property for self
at Queens Drive, Lagos.
Tinubu acquired all of the above and many more
not listed after he became Governor of Lagos
State, first in 1999 and won his second term in
2003. He remains Governor Emeritus of Lagos,
controlling the State's treasury through his protege
Governor Fashola.
He is greedy and may forfeit all, if he doesn't play
ball. You read me right, people! He may lose
everything if he declines to play ball with President
Jonathan.
Everyone knows Tinubu abandoned his party's
candidate, Nuhu Ribadu to support the PDP
candidate in 2011. Yoruba, however, did not really
buy into his support for Jonathan in 2011. We just
voted Goodluck because we were against Gambari.
Ribadu and Buhari being Gambari did not just cut it
for the Yoruba at the time and even more so now.
Yet, not many of you still recollect Atiku's interview
shortly after he was defeated by Yar'Adua in 2007.
According to the Turaki of Adamawa, Tinubu
supported and funded the campaign of late
President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua while the AC had
a presidential candidate.
Tinubu supported Yar'Adua of the PDP while his
party, the AC had a presidential candidate (Atiku)
because he knew Obasanjo will use the powers of
incumbency to rig the election for Yar'Adua as
President. To avoid the possibility of ending up in
prison under Yar'Adua, Tinubu secretly funded
Yar'Adua's campaign. Tinubu is a political dealer
and not anywhere near a political leader.
Political observers are abreast of Tinubu's game
plan with Buhari. He believes US, UK, Obasanjo and
Babangida are on board with Buhari's presidency.
So, he is willing and ready to put all his eggs in
one basket over # JihadistBuhari and ready for any
eventuality. He thinks with America's support,
Buhari will win and he (Tinubu) will stay relevant
and in control of the Yoruba economic wealth.
However, Jonathan, the President they all loved to
call clueless has the support of the Eastern power
blocs -Russia and China. He will bring down the
house on everyone of them. We are likely to end up
with Ukraine but Tinubu and Co want an Ivory
Coast scenario.
At the close of the day, if Nigeria unravels without
a well coordinated central command and control
outside Tinubu's and Obasanjo's groups in
Yorubaland, the two most hated figures in
Yorubaland right now, unknown militia Yoruba
groups will take over the affairs of the Yoruba
states and provinces the minutes Nigeria is
dissolved. They will not break up the control of any
area under them without a fight. Tinubu and
Obasanjo will surely not be in the commanding
height of things in Yorubaland. Former thugs,
assassins and criminals will surely run things
unless the Yoruba Obas and leaders of thought
work out plans before rererun.
The above scenario is definitely not static. It is
being speculated that after the expected defeat of
Buhari on 14 February, Tinubu will ask Gambari to
hold fire pending the gubernatorial election on 28
February. He will then negotiate with President
Jonathan for a soft landing to allow him control
the Lagos State through Ambode as the sole
condition under which he will prevail on Buhari and
his boys, Boko Haram to cease all hostility against
Mr. President and his government.
If Jonathan refuses to negotiate, but insists on
Agbaje as Lagos State Governor, Tinubu will
activate the terror cells in Yorubaland in
conjunction with Boko Haram in the North on or
before February 28 but definitely not after May 29.
Many of you shouting Sia Buhari are just a game in
the hands of the Yoruba-APC. The real change of
the Yoruba people remains change from unitary
system to regional parliamentary system. This
change can only be possible under Jonathan.
On February 14 when you get to the polls,

The APC has been consistent in saying that PDP has ruled Nigeria for 16 disastrous years in which corruption, impunity, insurgency, armed robbery and several ills of society held sway.

But watch out some of the APC chieftains saying this now their positions within the "16 disastrous years":

1. Rotimi Amaechi – 8 years speaker under PDP, and 7 years Governor under PDP = 15 years in PDP.

2. Atiku Abubakar – 8 years Vice president under PDP.

3. George Akume – 8 years Governor under PDP.

4. Bukola Saraki – 8 years Governor, and 2 years, Senator under PDP = 10 years.

5. Timipre Sylver – 4 years Governor under PDP.

6. Audu Ogbe – 2 years Chairmanship of the PDP.

7. Aminu Masari – 4 years as the Speaker, House of Representatives under PDP.

8. Chris Ngige – 3 years Governor under PDP.

9. Rabiu Kwankwaso – 7 years Governor under PDP, and 3 years Defense minister under PDP= 10 years.

10. El Rufai – 4 years FCT Minister under PDP, and 2 years BPE chairman under PDP = 6 years.

11. And to cap it all, Obasanjo is the navigator of the APC, a man who spent 8 of the disastrous 16 years as the maximum ruler of Nigeria.

It is now clearer that APC is a waste basket of the PDP Corrupt criminals , where the people who created and perpetuated the 16 disastrous years and now dumped. So where is the change coming from?
Are they now saints overnight because they joined APC?
how will malam buhari fight corruption and all ex military heads of state backing him?

bodeface:
Why all the Noise and denials, have you tried Lagos state Civil Service for anything before? then you will undertand that if there is anything more than the most corrupt, that will be more suitable, not to talk of LASTMA, VIO, KAI e.t.c, so many outfit with people strategically positioned to dupe and extort money from the populace.

Presently the worst of them now is the VIO that are harassing motorist all around with very ridiculous fines ranging from 50,000 to 200, 000 Naira for simple issues that are true to the fabricated ones and they are quick to take your vehicle by force drive it to their yards and then the butchering begins, all these are painting Lagos in bad light, every government no matter what should have human face, policies that put some common civil servant at advantage to extort money from th populace without anyone to check them is extremely wrong, see what the VIO are doing now, they are checking for every car document from insurance to fire extinguishers just to find something to hold someone.

If you remember Lagos was the only state that eradicated the Okada riders without providing alternatives for the poor fellas and empower the police to hit them with their vehicles, take the okada and leave the okada riders to die if possible as long as the okad has been confiscated, without considering most guys are on hired purchase with wife and children at home to fend for.

Have you tried the Lands department in the recent time? or the VIO being ruthless on the road, quick to jump into every vehicles? or LASTMA? and so on all this outfit are not fit for purpose, just means of making some civil servant rich.

I am tired of talking, however before you disagree ponder on all I have said, if you believe you are influential think of other people who are not they are the ones that bear the brunt of all these.
Every lagosian knows this , that's why we will vote agbaje , only tinubu slaves will want the continuity of a government that lacks human sympathy

hahahahahaha, grin grin grin grin grin
if it were a PDP state, APC e-rodents wouldn't allow us rest.

lagos is the most corrupt state in Nigeria. Try to get a C of O from Alausa, then you will know what that reports is really saying.

Those asking about ABIA state, Abia is one of the easiest states where you can buy a land and get your documents within 4 weeks without paying so much bribe if any at all unlike what is obtained in Lagos. You could drive for months in Abia without police stopping you to ask for bribe. You could easily pay your rents in months without landlords asking you to pay 2 years etc.

If you want to do foundation of your building in Lagos, you'll have to pay omonile about 150,000 naira. When you get to the roofing stage, you pay another 150,000 naira. Each deck you cast will cost you extra 150,000 if you are going to build a 2 storey building. Lagos is a mess.

This is someone who lead the fight to install GEJ during Northerner's manipulation in Yaradua's regime.
Tinubu, the only thorn in the flesh of PDP since 1999.

What have you done to the God father who has been milking Anambra dried since the time immemorial?

They called his party one man business during ACN, but always cry whenever they see him progress politically.

Tinubu is the backbone of opposition in the present Nigeria and he makea democracy more interesting. He helps in chexkmating the one way traffic administration of PDP.

sadly the man that tried to put these things in place and respect the judiciary by organising town Hall meetings and national conference is being accused of leading a corrupt government. not knowing that we are the ones creating a favourable condition for the cultivation of corruption.

instead we are busy asking for someone who will handpick people and punish them at will.forgething that we run a democratic government and must respect the judiciary.
long story

LagosBoi2:
PDP sponsored ranking...smh

most developed state and you now turn it to most corrupt, If this is what corruption means then i really like it
May i know how you rank Lagos as the most developed state? Other states constructed world class roads, Lagos paints it's roads, or are you referring to the island? we all know who owns majority of the buildings. Yes, your guess is as good as mine!

Let us stop being sentimental. Lagos is over populated and the first thing the president should do is to move some of the industries, banks etc. to other regions and make other ports active. And like someone said earlier, if we want change in Nigeria, we should also apply the change to APC governed states. And the change i am referring to is positive change. That means APC should give room for a new candidate from another party, simple!

HugeMac:
Before 1999, Tinubu had none of these:
1. Oriental Hotel
2. Falomo Shopping Complex
3. First Nation Airline
4. Lekki Concession Company
5. Apapa Amusement Park
6. Maiyegun Land Project
7. De Nation
8. Renaissance Hotel
9. Tejuoso Market (Joint ownership)
10. Ikeja Shopping Mall
11. TV Continental
12. Converted Lagos Poly land for TVC
13. Owned NNPC Office building in Lagos
14. Radio Continental
15. Owned School of Nursing building in Lagos
16. Tax Collector of Lagos State (Alpha Beta)
17. Wife is a member of the National Assembly
18. Son-in-law is a member of the National
Assembly
19. Daughter is the President-General of Market
Women Association in Lagos
20. N4 billion government financed property for self
at Queens Drive, Lagos.
Tinubu acquired all of the above and many more
not listed after he became Governor of Lagos
State, first in 1999 and won his second term in
2003. He remains Governor Emeritus of Lagos,
controlling the State's treasury through his protege
Governor Fashola.
He is greedy and may forfeit all, if he doesn't play
ball. You read me right, people! He may lose
everything if he declines to play ball with President
Jonathan.
Everyone knows Tinubu abandoned his party's
candidate, Nuhu Ribadu to support the PDP
candidate in 2011. Yoruba, however, did not really
buy into his support for Jonathan in 2011. We just
voted Goodluck because we were against Gambari.
Ribadu and Buhari being Gambari did not just cut it
for the Yoruba at the time and even more so now.
Yet, not many of you still recollect Atiku's interview
shortly after he was defeated by Yar'Adua in 2007.
According to the Turaki of Adamawa, Tinubu
supported and funded the campaign of late
President Umaru Musa Yar'Adua while the AC had
a presidential candidate.
Tinubu supported Yar'Adua of the PDP while his
party, the AC had a presidential candidate (Atiku)
because he knew Obasanjo will use the powers of
incumbency to rig the election for Yar'Adua as
President. To avoid the possibility of ending up in
prison under Yar'Adua, Tinubu secretly funded
Yar'Adua's campaign. Tinubu is a political dealer
and not anywhere near a political leader.
Political observers are abreast of Tinubu's game
plan with Buhari. He believes US, UK, Obasanjo and
Babangida are on board with Buhari's presidency.
So, he is willing and ready to put all his eggs in
one basket over # JihadistBuhari and ready for any
eventuality. He thinks with America's support,
Buhari will win and he (Tinubu) will stay relevant
and in control of the Yoruba economic wealth.
However, Jonathan, the President they all loved to
call clueless has the support of the Eastern power
blocs -Russia and China. He will bring down the
house on everyone of them. We are likely to end up
with Ukraine but Tinubu and Co want an Ivory
Coast scenario.
At the close of the day, if Nigeria unravels without
a well coordinated central command and control
outside Tinubu's and Obasanjo's groups in
Yorubaland, the two most hated figures in
Yorubaland right now, unknown militia Yoruba
groups will take over the affairs of the Yoruba
states and provinces the minutes Nigeria is
dissolved. They will not break up the control of any
area under them without a fight. Tinubu and
Obasanjo will surely not be in the commanding
height of things in Yorubaland. Former thugs,
assassins and criminals will surely run things
unless the Yoruba Obas and leaders of thought
work out plans before rererun.
The above scenario is definitely not static. It is
being speculated that after the expected defeat of
Buhari on 14 February, Tinubu will ask Gambari to
hold fire pending the gubernatorial election on 28
February. He will then negotiate with President
Jonathan for a soft landing to allow him control
the Lagos State through Ambode as the sole
condition under which he will prevail on Buhari and
his boys, Boko Haram to cease all hostility against
Mr. President and his government.
If Jonathan refuses to negotiate, but insists on
Agbaje as Lagos State Governor, Tinubu will
activate the terror cells in Yorubaland in
conjunction with Boko Haram in the North on or
before February 28 but definitely not after May 29.
Many of you shouting Sia Buhari are just a game in
the hands of the Yoruba-APC. The real change of
the Yoruba people remains change from unitary
system to regional parliamentary system. This
change can only be possible under Jonathan.
On February 14 when you get to the polls,
# VoteJonathan
if one man owns all this he virtually owns Lagos na shocked shocked

if per se Buhari wins will he probe Tinubu on how he acquired all his wealth and collect it back for Nigerians? will he also send him to kirikiri as he claimed he would do to all the looters of our treasury? won't it be the proverbial case of biting the finger that fed you? My thoughts really! undecided

OK, I figured I should visit the website directly to confirm the facts.

Firstly, I could not find any indices or scientific methodology used in arriving at their ranking.

Secondly, just to confirm the credibility of the promoters of the website, I decided to check on their "contact us" link. Behold there was no physical address or even phone number - just an online form.
