There was mild drama on Wednesday
when many supporters of the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) ran into a
campaign train of the All Progressives
Congress (APC) governorship
candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode at
Alaka Bus Stop, Surulere, Lagos.
Some of the PDP supporters
abandoned their train, folded their
umbrella and threw away some of
their party souvenirs in exchange for
that of the APC. They joined the APC
train shouting “Change, Change,
Change”.
They said the wind of change had
blown away the PDP “to restore the
dignity of our people and rescue the
masses.”
The massive crowd followed Ambode to
the venue of the campaign rally at
Surulere where he thanked them for
the show of love and acceptance and
promised not to let them down if
elected governor on February 28.
Ambode pointed out that they can
trust him having criss-crossed the
state for 27 years serving one local
government after the other.
He said he knows where the shoe
pinches and would surely give
attention to the welfare of the people
of Lagos.
“It appears that Lagosians believe
that Ambode represents the
continuity they want and not to
exchange the progress and prosperity
of Lagos for what the PDP epitomises
at the national level.
“The people of Lagos have heard the
voice of God and now they are echoing
the change that they truly want,”
Ambode enthused.
