BORNO STATE
1,934,079: number of registered voters
1,320,667: number of collected PVC's
68.28%

LAGOS
5,905,852: number of registered voters
2,925,913: number of collected PVC's
49.54%
From the foregoing, Ahmadu Ali's press conference where he categorically stated that distribution of PVC's in the north east is higher than that of lagos is in error. Using percentage is subject to the total number of registered voters. The real factor to be used is the number of collected PVC's and from the data is is obvious that lagos has a higher number. This analyses was premised by an argument I was involved in with some 'elites' yesterday. Hope Nigerians are able to do their own analyses and get their facts straight because these days propaganda is the order of the day.

percentage is better than absolute figure. He is thus very correct! Would you say that 8/20 is a better score than 7/10 just because 8 is greater than 7?

Should INEC start taking PVCs to peoples' homes? Some of the problems with uncollected PVCs is that some people were used by politicians to register twice or more. With the biometric data usage, it is impossible to pick up those extra PVCs because to do that, they have to present their temporary card. That is not possible for them to get extra PVCs. Another angle is some people are lazy to do the pick up and unable to line up to collect PVCs. Nigerians are always in a hurry.

Let me tell you about my own brother. He went three different times and couldn't collect his PVC. I asked him how long he spent during those three times he went and he told me on average of 40-45 minutes. I asked him to go there and spend the whole day and he told me his work won't let him. Last week, he was able to get a day off work and was there for more than three hours. He was able to pick his PVC and helped my mum get hers too. This happened at Alimosho in Lagos.

no. I would not. Say that, but given the circumstance, using absolute number gives u the facts. Plus the undertone was portraying INEC as being deliberately partial which in my own opinion is simply unfounded.
