In A Letter, Boko Haram Threatens To Attack Polling Centers In Gombe State by Nobody: 12:50pm On Feb 14, 2015
According to this Twitter user, Boko Haram right now in Gombe are dropping letters warning people to stay away from the March 28 elections.

Earlier on today, hundreds of Boko Haram Islamists invaded and attacked the restive northeast Nigerian city of Gombe, firing heavy guns. AFP reports that locals also confirmed to them that the insurgents threw leaflets at them that were asking them to boycott the forthcoming general elections.

http://www.lailasblog.com/2015/02/photo-boko-haram-drops-letters-in-gombe.html

FROM AFP:

Boko Haram invaded the restive northeastern Nigerian city of Gombe on Saturday and warned residents against voting in next month's elections as the Islamists defied regional force aiming to pursue them.

Residents said the attackers later left the city and stormed another area some 40 kilometres (25 miles) away, where they burned homes.

The violence prompted the state governor to impose an around-the-clock curfew.

Witnesses said the extremists stormed the city at around 9:00 am (0800 GMT) and advanced without any resistance from the security forces. It was unclear if there were casualties.

The Boko Haram fighters called on residents to boycott elections which had originally been planned to take place on Saturday before they were postponed until March 28.

"Whoever professes Islam should distance himself from polling stations because we are going to attack polling booths," read the Boko Haram leaflets.

Who stands to gain on election postponement? APC kicked against the election postponement but Gej wanted it. Who has every right to justify the postponement, is it not Gej? Is it not Gej using boko haram via ali modu sheriff to continue causing havoc so he has ample reasons to extend the election date too? is it not on this thread since 2012 we have been shouting that gej is using boko haram to scare voters in the north east to come out to vote? north east which is apc stronghold? please try and stop being a fool for one day.

When GEJ promised us that his guys will defeat Boko Haram within the next 6 weeks, we never knew he was tactically disenfranchising some potential Buhari's Voters in the North!

We now know the reason he postponed the Election. Just to disenfranchise some potential Buhari's Voters!

The only problem I see in the world today are muslims. If you are a muslim and you are not a terrorist, sorry. I am not referring to you. God please can YOU separate planets between Muslims and Christians, Let them live in Jupiter and leave Earth for us?

don't mind them, those supporting Jonathan now, I pray they are alive to see it when the truth comes out, that Jonathan's administration is behind this Boko Haram insurance. When the blood of the innocent Northerners starts crying.

Why are they not killing the Southerners, his Ijaw ppl. Why is he killing the ppl of his opponent.

Someday someday we would know the sponsors of Boko Haram, by God's grace

It is highly incredible and impossible for the Northerners to deny the origin of boko haram, their membership, foot soldiers, sponsors and mode of operation. Whenever they show seriousness, expose and arrest them boko haram will be a thing of past. Instead of fighting and arresting them, the north wants to use it to bring down the good efforts of our government. The boko haram is an ISIS branch and Northern leaders embraced it wholeheartedly. PDP, FG and GEJ has nothing to do with the Allah fighters and sharia implementation activists.

Can we all see now why Jonathan is the best thing for us? If the election had not been postponed to give more time for INEC to prepare better and the military be able to clamp down on this bastards(boko haram) that mean the north east would be in fear and might likely not vote.
President Jonathan not minding that the north east is where Buhari will get the little vote he can have, Gej still wants the place secured so the Nigerians can vote and not be disenfranchised.
GEJ it is!
Gej till 2019!

Gombe is composed of 50-60% Christians who will vote for Jonathan.

This why they are in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe. The northeast has roughly 50-60% Christians who have felt the brunt of jihad and will never vote for Buhari just like people from southern Kaduna and Jos will never support Buhari.

This is another round of black mail and intimidation by the caliphate!

Why are they not dropping letters in Sokoto that is majority Muslim?

disenfranchise means to deprive someone of the privilege to vote, how did GEJ deprive them with words?, did he put knife to their throat?? Yu don't even know the contextual meaning of disenfranchise and you are talking!

you may think you have spoken quite well to get some likes on nairaland like those fools who counter the words of people to make it seem interesting to their fellow fools!
Where's your valid proof that GEJ was the man behind the postponement?, is Jega now a kid who can't take or make decisions on his own? You are fed with poisons from the media about GEJ and you now have the liberty to spew them all here! Think reasonably for once

Typical Muslim.

Always deflecting blame from your dead brained brethren to other people or groups.

This how the Islamic world wants the rest of us to believe that ISIS is an Isreali operation.

Take responsibility and reign in your lunatic brethren.

WombRaiders:

Why the entire Muslim population are to be blamed for Boko Haram.

In Islam, the state is intended to be inseparable from religious rule.  Islamic law, or Sharia, is complete and not designed to coexist with or be subordinate to other legal systems. This is where the aggigtation for Shari law in the north arises.

Muslims are not meant to be ruled by non-Muslims.  The Qur'an is very clear that they are to resist unbelievers by any means until Islam establishes political supremacy.

In fact, a government of Muslims is not necessarily a Muslim government.  Islam requires Islamic law, therefore theocracy is the only pure form of government.  This is reason why there is aggigtation for universal sharia even by your own Buhari who stated in 2001 that he "will continue to show total commitment to the universal adoption of sharia law across the country ".

On Boko Haram killing Muslims

Although Muslim apologists sometimes claim that Islamic terrorists aren't Muslim by virtue of the fact that they kill other Muslims, the Qur'an advocates striving against both unbelievers and hypocrites, the latter of which are Muslims who profess Islam, but do not support Islamic rule over the way of the infidel as required.

Hypocrites include any government which does not uphold strict Sharia, as well as those that make alliances with a non-Muslim country (thereby making covenants and truces quite difficult to legitimize). This is why most Muslims are embarrassed by Jonathan being their president with the alliance with Isreal and his abstaining from participating in the Palestinian vote.

This is also enough reason why Boko Haram also see no qualms in killing fellow Muslims, particularly police, troops and officials who are in the service of this Jonathan administration. Even northern muslim politicians in Jonathan's govt are seen as traitors by the northern populace.
