nelsonoba: Where did the group see the report? Because they promised to make the report public as at last year December but we're still being made to wait. Politics aside, that report must have been cooked and well-doctored. We know what those guys up there are capable of. 1 Like |

Anybody who knows a thing or two about The Law of Evidence, should know that the moment the figures changed from $49b to $10b, and back to $20b, that it is no longer tenable. It is a shame that an institution such as our CBN, would publish uncertain figures and accuse the FG and NNPC, without first doing their due diligence. The change in figures, discredits that report. It is as simple as that. I am not saying that they didn't steal our money, but the figures are very important. Besides, when did our politicians not steal money? Abi we think say Buhari, Tinubu and their co travellers will not steal from us? 1 Like |

Sanusi is too arrogant to apologise. Before he became the emir, he believed that Nigeria revolves around Kano. Now that he has forcefully seized the emir ship, he will consider it condescending to deal with his hubris. In any case, this Nigeria, where corrupt people like sanusi moves through the system with impunity. |

Etruth: Why didn't anyone speak up when Obasanjo was there? Did Obasanjo perform more than Jona? I don't endorse corruption but the rate at which we are accusing Jona, one would think he invented it or that the people before him were Angels. We will get there gradually. In the western world, people don't steal much because they don't have access to public fund. There are too many loopholes in our system. It is too easy to get one's hand on public fund. The presidency cannot get his hands on our treasury without the cooperation of a lot of people. We are all involved. 2 Likes |

Lie. GEJ should apologise to Nigerian because even if it is one naira, it is corruption. It is not the amount that make corruption but the act itself ( "how much did Nwobodo steal"). Although we are very sure the report has been watered down due to its narrow terms of reference and doctored after submission. 1 Like |

omenka: you dey mind them? who's going to apologize to Nigerians for the people non Muslims who were killed during the post election crisis? who is going to apologize to Nigerians for the NYSC corners murdered in cold blood by his supporters?? who is going to apologize to Nigerians for declaring the a war against the insurgency is a war against the north? Our problem is not the dumb and stupid politicians but the blind and short sighted followers who follow them. |

nelsonoba: Many people in Nigeria are so proud that they can not do the needful. After the accusation has been found to be false, it is necessary that an apology to that effect is tendered. Since inception, I had maintained that president GEJ is a new crop of politician who is ready to stake his integrity to the progress of the nation and will not stain his image with such a little sum of money. I urge all Nairalanders also who has wrongly accused the president to publicly apologize to the president on this forum. With this I ask that someone open an open public apology thread to the president on Nairaland to the above. Thank you. |

The Report summary stated: The balance of the generated revenue is accounted for as follows: a)Revenue reported by NPDC of US$5.11billion reported by the MD, Mr. Briggs during the Senate hearings will be accounted for through the financial statements of NPDC, and any dividend declared will flow into the Federation account. b) PMS and DPK Subsidy of US$8.7billion c) NNPC’s initial costs verified and accepted by the senate of US$2.65billion d) Additional NNPC costs following the forensic audit US$2.81billion e) Added to the Revenue is the unremitted NPDC signature bonus due for divested assets and taxes/royalties totaling US$2.22billion. e) Hence the net amount attributable to the federation account following the above summary is US$1.48billion where did NPDC and NNPC got the legal authority to appropriate money before releasing to the federation account. What they have done is self appropriation, which is illegal in itself. All Money were supposed to be remited to the federation account before appropriation in line with whatever has been approved in the budget for NNPC and NPDC. This act of taking the money without appropriation is illegal and against constitution of the federal republic! Sanusi was right, Both NNPC and petroleum ministry was helping themselves with self appropriation before remitting whatever is left to the CBN. Hence, there was shortfall in howmuch that was supposed to be remited to the CBN up to the tune of N18 billion 1 Like 1 Share |

Etruth: Keep pretending and deceiving yourself. If the likes of Tinubu, Amaechi and Atiku are part of the change, and you are not condemning APC and asking Buhari to drop them because of their past, then you are part of the problem. I am untouchable. I don't belong to any of the stupid parties. I don't associate with criminals. I am involved because I am nigerian. I share in the blame. |

Guys, they did an audit. not internal audit o (because then u pple woulda said they r covering things up) they contracted world renowned and respected PWC, and yet you people still say it's wrong, but if PWC had come out to say the money was even more you people would believe them abi? Enough of the witchhunting. How do you expect 20billion dollars to go missing. Think. Please! 1 Like |

Rhemmymatician:We do not know what went on inside NNPC and CBN for the final audit. What is clear, Sanusi was illegally removed, time elapsed before the audit took place. Something wrong went down there and if Sanusi did not cry out, it would have continued. If the audit report could be made public, many things would have been explained like the balance of the book before Sanusi cried out. Until then, $1 billion dollars is still so much. Even after all the stunts, such money is frightening. 1 Like |
